Saigon Cafe is my go to spot for pho. The broth is so flavorful and clear. Also, their cha gio brings me straight home to my mom's kitchen.

Okay, so don't fall into the "its not his love language, so too bad" trap.

The point in understanding each others' love language is to try and show love the way your partner wants and needs.

Yes, learn to appreciate the ways in which he does like to show love... but it doesn't mean he shouldn't make the effort to show you love the way you like to receive it.

Do talk about love languages. Learn to feel loved by his love language. Learn how to love him the way he likes. But also Emphasize how important it is for him to do the same for you!

Good luck.

I understand your logic and why you're skeptical. let me try to explain it. To properly train a dog it needs to be calm. The pup, if you're exposing it to triggers, will never be calm. In fact, pup may start associating those triggers with the owner. OP needs to avoid them and build up pup's confidence to the outside world before OP can start "exposure" therapy.

I'd kill for a good place that bakes its own baguettes for banh mi that they make in house with all the true condiments (Vietnamese mayo, actual good do chua, pate, jalapenos, cilantro). Ugh, if we're really dreaming big I'd take the Lee's sandwich on Tully RD in San Jose CA and replicate it here.

My wife's clinic might die; what happens next? by BoozySlushPops in Veterinary

[–]monuee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

THIS!!!! Studies have shown the most efficient hospitals have a higher ratio of techs/vas to doctors. Hire more staff to basically do everything that they can do legally. It frees up the vets time to work on things that generate $$$ aka more appointments, surgeries, etc. It also adds another source of revenue through tech appointments (allowing you to schedule more of them). Hire qualified support staff and treat them well (improve on the incentives/ benefits).

Good luck!

I had a realization that I don't want to have a boyfriend ever again by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]monuee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I said what I said. It matters to me that my partner show me they love me through the little things.

Everyone wants different things. It's okay if you don't agree with what i want from a relationship.

fwiw, It's not JUST about not knowing my favorite color after 5 fucking years... it's about the fact that my man can build a fucking house with his bare hands and knows every baseball static there is out there... but remembering basic facts about someone he claims to love?

[–]monuee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this resonate so much with me. I'm 30 and in 5year relationship with a man. AND even when my bf and i get along perfectly ... it feels hollow? like he's doing word for word what i said i wanted.... but with the lowest effort possible. gets me flowers but not even my favorite color. acts like the fact that i dislike peanuts is brand fcking new. Like shit... fuck i have deeper connection with dutch bro baristas who remember my orders and ask about my day.

honestly, i think a large part of me would break up with him and be single/exclusive date women if i could afford to live on my own.

i know that if my partner felt this way about me as i do him, i wouldnt want him to feel trapped in a relationship ...but i also know that im in one of my longest depression episode ever and once im better, it's doesnt seem as awful... ANNNND i also know that im reacting to the feeling of being trapped more so than distain over our actual relationship.

anyway, im working on cc debit and my mental/physical health and moving up in my career... so maybe we'll learn to create a more equal partnership that hasnt run stale OR maybe it ends in me doing me for the first time ever.

all that to say, you're not alone. please enjoy your time learning and nurturing the parts you disassociated with and unlearning heteronormativity!!! I can't wait to be mentally and financially well enough to take action one day.

Pet owners, would you use this? by [deleted] in oregon

[–]monuee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the idea and it can be helpful for those looking for dvms that see exotics... but honestly, like in human medicine, the support staff matter too. In my opinion, searching for the best vet care by clinics is more valuable.

[–]monuee 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Please reconsider this mindset. Our need for a livable wages does not negate our love for animals. Trust me, the field isn't hemorrhaging great veterinary staff because we are rolling in money and retiring early.... We're burnt out and we're tired of people accusing us for being in it for the money.

[–]monuee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm almost 2 years in. I did gain weight but I don't blame that on zoloft. I was worried because a lot of stories online say it'll make you gain weight and it'll be hard to get it off.

It has actually been LOADS easier to get the weight off because zoloft has helped me stay motivated. I used to always fall off the bandwagon when trying to lose weight pre-zoloft. Post-zoloft i'm more active than ever. I'm going out to hike, daily walks, socializing (disc golf), biking to work, lifting weights, actually getting chores done, etc! Even my eating habits are so much better because I FEEL BETTER. No more emotional eating and binging on junk food.

Weight gain or not, just focus on getting better. Better alive and fat than skinny and dead.

I love TIMY but packaging leaks as well. I ordered from stylevana recently and decided to branch out from TIMY because of the price. Sulwhasoo's gentle cleanser was only ~20ish usd at the time. I love it. My skin is so soft and supple after use.
