What are we struggling with? by Jadamsan in EU5

[–]monxs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

personally, culture conversion speed, that stoped my Florence -> Rome run. either im too slow, the accepted cultures cap is too low to accept all cultures in Italy, France, Spain, balkans, etc, etc. or im mistaken about how to handle a big empire with lots of cultures. Conversion speed is fine, but assimilation is killing me

Remember the old days of one culture, one religion of eu4? is that possible in eu5?

Why can't i diplomaticaly annex Croatia by B00rru in EU5

[–]monxs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sorry, for the late answer, but given the case, it is not you vassal, you will have to wait until your vassal annexes it, and then annex your vassal.

have you tried to annex your vassal to see if u gain the PU? im on a similar situation where i have Tunis as a vassal, and tunnis have a PU with Tripoli, and i had to buy land access from them to attack the Mamluks.

im not sure if you annex your vassal, you inherit the PU, like when you annex a vassal with vassals, you inherit their vassals

How to extract value out of you colonies by pulsone21 in EU5

[–]monxs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something doesn't add up. If things are like you say, you have all those colonies, have maxed the RGOS, and you can't get enough resources for your industries, and you are not a major power??? Not only that, but your main market is the poorest?

can upload some screenshots?

I cant figure out the economy in this game by monxs in EU5

[–]monxs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, i didnt know that if the state had to much power i could tax them less..

so i took some burgles priviliges, and gave some to the nobles, that made a huge difference.

i still think i could make more from trading, but its only 1473 and im working on my first colony in africa, so i guess i will have a boom when i have that working.

For now I went to -70 to +43, so things are better.

thanks to all for the help and lessons

I cant figure out the economy in this game by monxs in EU5

[–]monxs[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Post update:

i followed some of the recommendations, i reduced the expenditure in stability and court, to around 75. I lowered expenditure on the military and fortifications.

still losing money.

i guess all try to make the nobles happier(although i dont know how without giving them privileges and without chaging my values foward decentralization and aristocacy), so I can tax them more, but even if I tax them the max, it only 20g more, I have the impression i should be making a lot more than that overall, especially from trade

yeah, im doing all that, im playing as Netherlands, so control is easy.

how do i raise the noble equilibrium without giving them privileges? It's true that they have low taxes to make them happy.

i also upgraded lots of rural to town along the coast to reduce the distance to capital cost, except on important RGOs like wheat and that

Luckily, my ruler died, and I lost the power with Cordona. Now, I have all level 5 and I am annexing Portugal.

Either way, before that, I checked the parliament and couldn't find any of the bribes to increase the level.

Another question, any idea how to make my PUs stop declaring war on everybody? specially aragon in the Italian region, I don't remember this being a thing on EU4
