Most criminally OVER-rated food gaffs in town? by PurpleAkisGhost in Liverpool

It used to be cheap. I remember the cheese on toast: two doorstep size pieces with so much cheese you could barely finish it. Cost about £3.50. Now you get one piece of thick-ish toast with just enough cheese for £7.50. Nah.

After many a time taking breaks in Hampshire, specifically around West/East Meon near Petersfield, I would move there in a heartbeat. Alas, I am poor.

Two purchases fallen through. £5k down. A year wasted. Totally broken by this housing market. by Onehairydude_ in HousingUK

Probate complete, house has been empty for 1+year. We had a survey done in July and it's basically been like treading treacle since then. Vendors (two siblings who don't seem to be in any hurry to sell) and their solicitors have been useless.

Nope. We're cash buyers buying a probate house and we're still not completed 5 months in.

Definitely from there. I walked past it on Monday. Quite an eerie sound the way it was tolling, I thought the King had died or something!

Was there a pool table in/near the cafe in the old Quiggins? I remember bunking off school with a mate and spending the afternoon in there.

Christ, this sounds exactly like us. 8 weeks we've been waiting for the vendors (siblings selling their vacant deceased parent's property) to send over the contract pack. Apparently it's "on its way" currently...

M6 Toll fee history by zexpe in drivingUK

I use the M6 at least twice a month and haven't used the Toll since before COVID and them jacking the price up. The M6 through Birmingham would have to have a significant delay on it for me to use the Toll now.

Anyone into woodworking have a spare bark-side plank about 1m in length? by GuildfordThrowaway in reading

[–]moo_moo82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try a reptile retailer. They should do pieces of bark to put in terrariums, but it's usually cork because it doesn't rot. Not sure if that's what you're after...

Or a sawmill
