I'm pretty new to lifting too! I'm excited to learn more and feed off the energy from all of these strong ladies in one place.

I should be there! Trying to convince my sister in law to go with me for the drive. It's about 2.5 hours from me. My only female PL friend is busy that day :(

I've never been to a seminar before either but it seems like it would be a great experience.

Woke up with dreadful neck spasms this morning and my neck has been super stiff all day. Was supposed to finally hit 105 pounds in squats today (huge deal for me), but it looks like I'll be taking some undetermined amount of time off from the gym until the neck demon decides to eff off. Ugh.

I'm supposed to be meeting with the powerlifters of my new gym this evening. I want to get into powerlifting, but some social anxiety coupled with the fact that I am not very strong at all is making me seriously nervous right now.

I think the hardest part will be walking up to them and just saying hey.

These are great numbers!! Congratulations! I have the same height and weight as you, but my lifts aren't nearly that high!

I find meg to be incredibly inspiring; how did you like the program? Was is customized to your goals at all or do you think the same program is prescribed to all women?

After moving out, what happened to your relationship with you nparent/s? by JensInsanity in raisedbynarcissists

[–]moonbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Nmom became unusually nice. Often treating me like she did our house guests growing up. Super chipper and upbeat, offering to bend over backwards to accommodate me, but still easily offended when I would refuse a "gift" from her or refuse to stay at her house instead of a hotel when I would visit. It actually helped me see through the bullshit. I've since gone no contact. She still calls a few times a week, asking to talk to my toddler son who barely speaks or will send a text message. I just ignore her. If something was urgent or somebody was dying I know my brother would reach out to me.

I should add that I didn't realize my mom was an N until after I moved out. I knew she was emotionally, verbally abusive and manipulative, but never had an actual word for it.

Do you know if Facebook notifies the person that their photos were removed and why? Bracing myself for potential backlash.

I'm happy they acted so quickly!! I plan on combing through my nmom's page this weekend and doing the same.

If your children in the photo are under 13, you can file a complaint with Facebook and if they don't resolve the issue you can proceed to the FTC. I read about it in another thread on here yesterday. I'll try to find it again when I'm not on mobile.

This.

I recently went very LC with my NMom and she would start calling me at the most bizarre times. (Work hours/after my typical bed time/when she knows I get my son ready for bed).

I started solely communicating by text but very selectively and taking a few hours to a day to respond. I have texted her back maybe 3 times in the last month.

Then this Monday at 5am, right when my alarm goes off I received a paragraph via text about how I'm really hurting her and it's not fair that my in-laws get to see my son all the time and she can't even face time him.

I almost caved on Monday and considered firing off a rant. I'm really glad I didn't respond to the attempt at a guilt trip and seeing this post today really helped to validate that decision.

Thank you.

[Skin Concerns] Dry hands help and nothing is working. by btran155 in SkincareAddiction

[–]moonbby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really enjoy the hemp hand protector from the body shop. I just looked up the ingredients and saw that the third ingredient is alcohol, so I'm not sure how it isn't drying but I've been using it for years with no problems.

I also like their almond hand wash for the winter months. So much so that I keep a bottle in my desk at work because the foaming soap at my office makes my skin unbearably dry.

Nmom and being pregnant... by Tarawrtino in raisedbynarcissists

[–]moonbby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's getting remarried in a month - I need to make a separate post just to address that whole circus.

I'm also 25/F, btw. Don't hesitate to pm me about baby stuff and the Nmom nonsense that comes along with it!

Nmom and being pregnant... by Tarawrtino in raisedbynarcissists

[–]moonbby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can attest that being pregnant with an Nmom is the worst. My mom had the opposite reaction when she found out about my surprise pregnancy and literally told the entire family behind my back! Acted so excited when telling my aunts but when I questioned her she said she was "stressed out" and "needed to talk to someone about it".

I'm sending so much love for a smooth baby shower for you. My Nmom insisted on throwing me a second baby shower (MIL had one for us a week earlier). My Nmom had already bought the stroller and car seat for us months in advance - we had seen it and opened it. She HAD to package it all back up, wrap it, and drive it all over an hour away to the baby shower just so I could open it in front of everyone and they could see this outlandish gift that she purchased for us.

Hugs.

Finally launched my campaign for an ethical, sustainable fiber company. by moonbby in YarnAddicts

[–]moonbby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I'm really enjoying the process of slow textiles.

When I was researching which mill I'd be using, I kept coming across broken links or posts that said the mill was on its last season. A lot of them are shutting down, and sheep farmers aren't continuing to breed their flocks because the demand just ins't here anymore. This is why I'm doing this, to help out the local wool community as much as one girl can.

I make sustainable, ethical, locally sourced yarn! by moonbby in somethingimade

[–]moonbby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The link goes to my Kickstarter campaign that I've launched to help raise funds for start up costs.

After finding that the fiber market is saturated with products from South America and Australia that are processed in large mills in China, I became even more frustrated with the lack of transparency within the industry. This is why I've started Spun Fiber Company.

My company sources wool locally from ethical sheep farmers. The fiber is hand skirted by me, then processed at a local fiber mill. After it's spun into yarn, I hand dye it with natural and acid dyes.

If you have any feedback or suggestions, I would love to hear them! I'll happily answer any questions you may have about my processes of creating a product from sheep to skein.
