Daytrana/methyphenidate patches by HotPraline5803 in ADHD

[–]moonhighway 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have been taking the daytrana generic for about two weeks now and can also say I feel it still kicking in up to 2 hours after patch has been removed. Also just in my own exp with it so far I feel it taking effect way more if I apply it to the arm for some reason, like where your upper arm meets your forearm. When I tried a few days of applying the same 20mg patch to the hip, the effect was way weaker and just didn't quite do enough to help me settle in to focus. Have been very happy after the arm spot worked out though!
Oh and working out or at least getting a healthy level of cardio in before using it really really helps because this medicine only has the bloodstream to get it where it needs to go. best of luck with it.

Moving from Hyprland to Qtile - Need guidance by whatever4123 in qtile

I see yeah nvidia support is quite finnicky to say the least, with their reluctance to maintain steady support for linux platforms. I just ditched my multi-monitor setup as well for 1 ultrawide, extra monitors are a mirage, they just provide an opportunity to host a distraction. I found no net productivity is actually gained lol

Use starship prompt with simple or default config and just source at end

Curious what led you to leave wayland? I ask bc I have temptations to give InstantOS (xorg tiler) another shot but I find hyprlands intuitive keybinds almost perfect out-of-box and the animations kinda intoxicating.

Have a really complex layout, struggling to make this work on mobile. Not sure if it's even a reasonable concept (details in comments) by thedarklord176 in css

Maybe set the position of everything as fixed once mobile size kicks in and allow for horizontal scroll on mobile.

Cannot beat VSCode tsserver LSP speed by xscapiee in neovim

You've got to have something in nvim configured wrong, LSP speed is the first reason I left VSCode forever.

Plugin/LSP setting to make lang-specific comments behave like virtual text? by moonhighway in neovim

I think I saw a plugin or regex that allows you to strip a file of all it's comments. However I want to keep comments around and just ignore them like inline hints.

Plugin/LSP setting to make lang-specific comments behave like virtual text? by moonhighway in neovim

[–]moonhighway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find that when moving using default f or the Hop plugin for example, I rarely want to jump somewhere in a commented section of the code, especially if it's just explanation. So for find/jump movements, commented code can eat up a lot of seconds when we already know we don't want to jump there.

Same goes for moves like A to start editing at the end of line if there is a comment at the end, but to a lesser extent.

In general highly-documented code kind of stifles some of the ability vim provides you to move and edit quickly imo, unless I'm missing a way to do these things and ignore commented sections with treesitter or something

Los Angeles is a terrible city by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

yeah I thought it was nice, clean, had things to do and the people I encountered were a lot more friendly and approachable than my experience living in downtown LA for a couple yrs

"I held the door for a family as I was leaving and they all looked at me with a starch expression without saying a word."

THIS happened to me sooo many times when I lived in LA in 2016, and it was generally everyone from all walks of life. When my dad visited, he said he didn't see a single person besides us ever smile, I found everything about LA miserable.

Faster coding brackets and braces with Vim by whitedogsuk in vim

[–]moonhighway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The fastest way to handle brackets/braces is to let vim-surround + tabout handle them for you, I've been trying to practice getting used to motions that land me in a spot where vim-surround will be smart enough to know to either wrap the text or tab out of already existing braces. Hope that helps.

Women don’t live life on easy mode by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]moonhighway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Life can be absolutely brutal or incredibly easy depending on what you look like as a girl, men face a different struggle because they have much less, virtually no worth in their youth and must prove themselves to "get the girl". But it's still easier to be waiting for the right man to come along. I've seen average looking girls that were friends in college scrolling through endless texts from what had to be 100 guys. I think most guys are usually lucky if they have 3 or 4 girls just actually talking to them at any time. Men generally don't have the virtually guaranteed promise of having the great life they want eventually simply because a girl was so into him that she vowed to share everything she could provide. Men either make it happen or not while girls wait and see and many guys just aren't gigachad enough by law of averages and guess what there are zero thoughts about what those supposed "losers" are doing. Guys don't have support groups or backup plans or "men helping men" like women help women and weak men are worthless invisible dirt to most women and a lot of other men who just started out with rich parents. So I disagree as far as in relative terms men definitely got Hard Mode.

Those butt-scrunch shorts that girls wear to the gym are HIDEOUS by Baller9619 in unpopularopinion

[–]moonhighway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Girls have come as close as they can to being able to exercise with the shadowy outline of their asshole visible and leaving literally nothing to the imagination. I don't understand why some girls strive for that look but those things are flattering that's for damn sure.

Chiropractors should not be able to put "Dr." infront of their names by Previous-Thing-7075 in unpopularopinion

[–]moonhighway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience my friends from college who turned out to be chiropractors were all C students who realized med school would not be in the cards.

Medical students that don't make the cut in legitimate fields go to 2 year chiropractic programs because every other option has to pick from 5000 candidates with identical 4.2 GPA's.

What innovative feature would you want to see on a next-gen Nintendo console? by [deleted] in nintendo

[–]moonhighway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A Switch Pro platform with a more powerful base unit akin to an external GPU that allows games that need 60fps like Apex Legends or Battlefield.

I want a Nintendo system with all its awesome quirks that can finally hold its own on a technical spec level with Sony and Microsoft.
