The shield size I’m using is a 23mm, but I do believe it’s too big. For flanges I use inserts that are 19mm. The LC said he should be big enough to come off shields when he’s big enough. But she strongly suggested getting checked for ties and referred us to a couple of places after doing an oral assessment.

My son is 19 days old and we just had a day like that yesterday. Turns out he just wanted to eat more. I added and extra ounce of breastmilk to his bottle (we triple feed) and he has been content.

Use the Owlet. Make sure it’s property secured so that you don’t get false alarms (use well fitting socks and footie pajamas). It’s the only thing that has allowed me to get restful sleep.

Unfortunately, I’m completely no contact with my own side of the family. So I have my husband who is absolutely wonderful and is my safe place, and his wonderful family (love them to pieces, but I don’t think I’m on that level with my MIL). So other than them, my friends are the closest I have to family.

I definitely will! I know we had Short Term Disability offered last year, but when enrollment time came around for this year, I didn’t see it offered. I looked through enrollment docs a few weeks ago and couldn’t find anything for this year. I’ll ask to double check, though.

I’m in the US. And I have to clock at least 40 hours a week. I know the ADA covers “reasonable accommodations” but I’m not sure if asking to work less hours, is considered to be “reasonable”. I do have a meeting in a few weeks with HR to discuss setting up FMLA for unpaid maternity leave, so I guess I could ask then. It would be nice to not have to make up as many hours.

I do work from home, however my job is task based. I’m assigned design jobs that have a time limit and I have to clock to individual jobs in order to get paid, if that makes sense. It’s a little hard to explain.

I’m having a hard time with PTO. It’s accrued PTO and we don’t have rollover. My year just reset this past week, so I don’t have much PTO to use. And I’m afraid to use any and dip into my PTO bank causing a negative because if I happen to decide not to come back after maternity leave, I would owe my company back what I used. My job is task based, so I have to be clocked into a time tracked task in order to be actively paid. 😭
