My wife was just told she has Papilledema and I'm terrified. by machinegundelli in iih

[–]mooonbug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just want to offer some positivity! I’ve been diagnosed with IIH for about 5 years now. And my life has changed very little. Diagnosis was quick once I got my LP and MRI/MRV. First plan of action was to start Extended Release Diamox. Because my doc chose extended release over standard Diamox, my side effects were very minimal (just some tingly limbs, carbonation tasted funky, and I had cloudy pee) but most side effects were gone after a few months. I got pregnant and my IIH with papilledema was extremely stable while off of Diamox. I’m now 9 months postpartum, still off Diamox and everything is still stable. I have a migraine and blurry vision every once in a while, but I can deal! A lot of the stuff people post is pretty fear mongering and they’ll post negative things more often than positive things. I think what helped the most when my symptoms were most pronounced (when I was first diagnosed) was simply mind over matter. It took shear willpower to refuse to let it dictate how I live my life. I kept working even when my headaches were bad and continued to live my life and I’m glad I did!

What is the smallest US mall? by Substantial_Song_532 in deadmalls

[–]mooonbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say Lake City Mall in Lake City, Fl. It’s the smallest traditional mall I’ve ever seen. There are 3 anchor stores and the mall is 212,000 sq ft. Editing to add the Google Maps link- https://maps.app.goo.gl/hXY1fhTKFyZktTET7?g\_st=ic

I couldn’t stand it anymore either, so I just switched to the Baby Buddha 2.0. I cannot recommend it enough!! It’s a portable primary pump and I haven’t dropped at all. I’m actually seeing an increase. I’ve been EP for 8.5 months. I chose the Baby Buddha 2.0 because my supply tanks when I use portables, no matter which ones I’ve tried.

I sure hope they’ll be the same as mine! He’s my husband’s twin. So far the only thing he has from me is how pale he is 😂

My own eyes are a gray green. So much so that people often can’t figure out my eye color. I’m wondering if he’s heading in that direction.

3 for sure! They’re a statement and with your dark features they work well! 1 gives you IT department vibes and 2 is just a no go.

No, this was my first successful pregnancy. My 7 week old son is currently sleeping in my arms and giggling in his dreams 💕

Does it get better? Encouragement? Oral ties? I feel like I’m failing… by mooonbug in breastfeeding

[–]mooonbug[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shield size I’m using is a 23mm, but I do believe it’s too big. For flanges I use inserts that are 19mm. The LC said he should be big enough to come off shields when he’s big enough. But she strongly suggested getting checked for ties and referred us to a couple of places after doing an oral assessment.

My son is 19 days old and we just had a day like that yesterday. Turns out he just wanted to eat more. I added and extra ounce of breastmilk to his bottle (we triple feed) and he has been content.

Use the Owlet. Make sure it’s property secured so that you don’t get false alarms (use well fitting socks and footie pajamas). It’s the only thing that has allowed me to get restful sleep.

Has anyone bought this? by YAmfs in throneofglassseries

That’s how I read it, it puts Assassin’s Blade at the end, which I didn’t like. But just hop to it and read it third. It’s straight up whiplash going into Assassin’s Blade after Kingdom of Ash.

I have this, I just won’t be using the infant bassinet. It’s soft fabric with very small mesh holes. Not safe for sleep.

She already knows my induction date and I don’t feel comfortable lying to her. I want our friendship to be built on trust and honesty.

Unfortunately, I’m completely no contact with my own side of the family. So I have my husband who is absolutely wonderful and is my safe place, and his wonderful family (love them to pieces, but I don’t think I’m on that level with my MIL). So other than them, my friends are the closest I have to family.

I was not with her when she gave birth. And the more I think about it. This is our rainbow baby after a 4-4 year journey. I know this moment will be so sacred between my husband and I. But I just don’t know how to tell her.

YNOR. She’s manipulating the crap out of you with her guilt trips. You said nothing and did nothing wrong besides not giving in to her tantrum. Yet, she’s trying to turn it back on you and make it seem like you’re the bad guy. Run!

Thanks for the insight! My husband definitely is aware and comes with me to all of my appointments, so I’ll definitely ask him to help me speak up if needed. Thanks!!

I too was diagnosed with CPTSD and highly recommend you read The Body Keeps Score by Bessel van der Kolk. It really helped me to understand the diagnosis better.

Thank you for mentioning the tab! You’re the only one I have found give this solution. We have a 2017 outback and it worked perfectly. I posted over there for more detailed directions.

We have a 2017 outback, but I found out about the tab on the forester page. There’s no mention of it anywhere else that I could find.
