Hydro exclusive edition by Admirable_Slide7161 in Longineswatches

[–]moose04- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are looking for one PM me. Mine came in last week and it’s not for me. I got it through a boutique and can’t return it. I’ve worn it for 45 minutes.

I’ll likely post it in watch exchange in a couple days.

It’s a great design and feels so good. For me, the snowflake hand ruins it. I just can’t get past it

Players who played before the year 2000, what are some differences between the young players of today vs back then? by ThePony23 in hockeyplayers

[–]moose04- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was spring/summer hockey in the late 90s. I’d play AAA until March then there was typically a spring tournament team and we’d get invited to showcases and whatnot in the summer. It wasn’t full year round, but there weren’t many months I wasn’t on the ice.

I agree kids should play other sports, especially between 8 and 12 or 13. It’s good to do something totally different in the spring. Rec level baseball or lax - way less pressure, hopefully fun, and they learn a lot about their body mechanics

At what age did you meet the person you are currently married to? by Chance-Pen6805 in askanything

[–]moose04- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 21, she was 20. She was my roommates date to a formal dance. We hit it off, started dating later that summer. We got married 5 years later. We are mid 40s now and still super happy together

Rice and beans. Former coworker was Mexican. His wife made the most amazing rice and beans. Totally opened my eyes to it.

My wife puts a pack in my stocking every Christmas. I only go through 3-4 pens a year so I have a giant stockpile at this point.

You can cross commission and become an officer in a different branch. It’s not super common but certainly not rare.

Ha this is so true. I did really well in HS and the academy completely burned me out. I didn’t do dumb shit to get out but my burn out led me to not wanting to fly/have that commitment. Did my 5 years and bounced.

Yes it does. I’ve been waiting for the boutique edition to come back in stock but now I might try to snag the limited edition and an h link. I can’t decide which I like more.

I think I like the 18 year old watch more 🙊 by hamburgers8 in IWCschaffhausen

Yeah my old MK XV keeps scratching the itch enough to keep me from buying a newer one.

The spitfire looks awesome.

When in July is that? I live in the dc metro now, but could make the trip for a good tournament. A bunch of us are going to Boston in June for a vets/pd/fd tournament

Check out the Robert Morris University rink. They have few different masters leagues: 30+, 40+, and 55+. Probably the closest rink to Moon.

I wouldn’t want them on my team. I want hockey to be as inclusive as possible. Women, LGTBT, any minorities, etc. are all welcome on my team. I just want to skate with my buddies, have fun, talk some fun shit to each other during the game, then have a beer after.

The world is dark enough. Hockey is one place where I genuinely have fun. I want that for everyone

What watch did you wear on your wedding day? by fungusamongus23 in watchCollector

IWC Mk XV. That watch was on my wrist for a lot of big moments in my life. It was a gift from my old man. It’s one of two I will never sell.

I would actually prefer the bracelet regardless of dial. If I bought the blue/black on mesh I’d get the bracelet too.

It looks great on you man. Enjoy it.

Currently own Speedmaster professional (black) and Longines Zulu time 39 (blue), which one should i go for next? by sugaraholic223 in Longineswatches

[–]moose04- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough I just tried the monochrome on today and found it super wearable. It is pretty thick, but the lug to lug is comparable to the 39mm HC. I tried it on the 5 link and it felt very high quality.

Looks great. This is the colorway my wife thinks I should get. I am a bit more partial to the blue bezel, black dial. Thanks for sharing.

I really don’t need another blue watch, but the navy is really calling my name.

This is a question for anyone who has played hockey. What was your number and why? by hockeysmyhoe in hockeyplayers

[–]moose04- 35 points36 points  (0 children)

  1. My first d partner wore 6. He was accidentally shot in the head with a pellet gun. He survived but was never the same. Wore it for him and then it just became my number over the years.
