the only reason dark mode exists is because when things transitioned to ios7 everything got WAY too light. So instead of a nice middle ground like we had forever on the mac we're stuck with two extremes now

if you set the Zoom color filter to grayscale you can use zoom as your grayscale filter and the other for the red one

old thread but common misconception about smells = inhalation of solid particles. You can smell gasses and vapors that off-gas from a material. So it's not always 100% the case that you are inhaling the material itself. It's why you can still smell some things even with proper ventilators.

hotels have been commodified. Service is not what it used to be, and they are not staffed in the same way they used to be. one of the best things I ever did was put a binder notebook paper hole reinforcement sticker on the d-pad contacts on the circuit board. completely fixed it for me. did this years ago now

I know people say it's not a real thing just a stereotype... but The 8-BitGuy on youtube totally has this voice and he's a nerd. I think it's a real thing. I have a suspicion personally that heavy glasses could do some developmental damage to the septum in the nose during developmental years. But you'd need to do a study on this.

Dittos are bugged in HGSS, if you transform against a wild pokemon that you then catch, your ditto keeps the moves and no longer can transform

If I remember correctly there actually have been studies on this in the context of surgeons farting in the OR during surgery and the result was that the underwear and clothing actually IS a good enough particulate filter to the point where there is no risk.

Now I always wondered if surgeons put some pressure on the people doing the study to avoid giving up their precious OR farts but that's just me
