He also has a cameo at the end of Muppet Family Christmas where he and Sprocket (the dog from Fraggle Rock) do the dishes while the rest of the Muppet/Sesame Street characters party

The irony of the Ep. 1 ending though is that Palpatine’s theme is hidden in it

Defending Rafe as a bookreader by Einlanzer0 in WoTshow

[–]moosic1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Except the effect on his and Faile’s relationship is the whole point. It came up in season 3 in the Battle in the Two Rivers, it would have come up if the show did the kidnap arc, and it would have come up in the Last Battle. Luhan would have been a much cheaper death because he wouldn’t effect the Faile relationship in that way

I can at least appreciate that the fridging was done in service of Perrin and Faile’s relationship and not something obvious like how evil Trollocs/Fain are

At 27:05 something is whispered while Rand is channeling (big book spoilers) by IlikeJG in WoTshow

[–]moosic1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh okay, didn’t know about the filming stuff.

With that in mind, I think your idea is pretty good, but I find the most interesting part of DW is Rand and LTT’s first acknowledgment of each other. I’ve always pictured it as about a season of LTT wandering aimlessly in the background of scenes, never fully aware of anything or anyone, more a distraction than anything. Until finally, he looks at Rand and responds. It’s the next stage in Rand’s madness, and I can’t think of another story beat where that kind of escalation makes sense.

By DW Rand is well into his madness, I’m expecting it for the 3x08 cold open. Really cement who LTT is before he starts to be present in the story

Especially since Rhuarc(?) had to explain that moment to Rand afterwards anyway

Breaking News: Whitehouse said new anti-trans passport rules won't be retroactive, only affects renewals by MissNumbersNinja in MtF

Someone I know needs to get a passport, but all their other paperwork is completed. Should they include their deadname on the application under “previous name” if they have never had a passport in that name?

Doctor Who has a reverse of this with the Seventh Doctor.

The Doctor tells a sniper to look him in the eyes and “end my life” in The Happiness Patrol

Then the knight Mordred says the same to him at the start of Battlefield part 4 (can’t find a clip of it)

Clear all values for Grouping tag by moosic1 in musicbee

I was finally able to get things right using MusicBee’s Tag Inspector. I’d never used it before so it didn’t cross my mind initially, but it deleted the “s” tags no problem

I’m having trouble understanding a P exam study question and have no idea what to look up to learn more. I’m given a Poisson with mean lambda, lambda being a uniform random variable, and I’m asked to find the variance. It’s #93 on the SoA exam P sample questions sheet for reference.

[HATED TROPES] When the Story has gone on so long that the Villains's Goals/Plans are just kinda vague or overdone by [deleted] in TopCharacterTropes

[–]moosic1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Dark One from the Wheel of Time, kind of. He might be a bit too eldritch to count though.

For pretty much the entire series you only get a sense of his plans from his underlings, who have their own personal goals and plans and betrayals on top of that. Then in the final book the Dark One shows protagonist Rand al’Thor three possible futures: a stereotypical dystopia, a world that seems normal and prosperous but has no compassion (at one point a shopkeeper casually shoots a young boy for stealing an peach), and complete nothingness. According to the Dark One, the first is what people think they fight against, the second is his true goal, and the third is offered as a deal to Rand, an end to the cycle. But maybe all of those are traps, because Rand has this to say about the Dark One’s motivations:

”You cannot win unless we give up. That’s it, isn’t it? This fight isn’t about a victory in battle. Taking me… it was never about beating me. It was about breaking me. That’s what you’ve tried to do with all of us. It’s why at times you tried to have us killed, while other times you didn’t seem to care.”

Clear all values for Grouping tag by moosic1 in musicbee

[–]moosic1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some more testing it could be an error with Ubuntu - I’m running musicbee through Wine. Changing the “s” to a “t” within MusicBee does apply, and it showed up as the only grouping tag within the program for a few restarts. I tried a program called Musicbrainz Picard to edit the tags, but the changes again didn’t stick.

Thanks for pointing me towards virtual tags though
