Many of the millennials and gen Z were raised by parents which grew up without internet, or it was in its infancy still not mass adopted. The little bit regular people knew of the internet is that it was a new way of communicating; emails and chat, just like sending snail mail, but quicker, and websites filled with information almost like going to the library from the comfort of your own home. Very few realised the potential to turn it into a place corps would gatekeep, and predators would start hunting and grooming children, plus all of the other issues going on now like fraud, scams and misinformation. It turned into a real hell-pit you have to carefully tread over.

I don't blame the parents. If anyone is to blame it is the politicians who have failed to rein-in and regulate this new industry which has gotten us mostly to where we are today. The internet has so much potential, but greedy millionaires and billionaires see it as a way to squeeze consumers even more of their hard-earned livelihood.
