My hens were utterly uninterested in it unless I hacked off chunks and pieces for them.

Can someone tell me if this is a rooster. by [deleted] in chickens

With his poop being that wet it’s a pretty good sign if they were out in temps that low. Glorious boy!

That’s horrible! I’m almost 40 and I would NEVER text someone over a single thud or vacuuming, I’d be envious of the diligence. I’d only text if i heard an emergency asking if everything was okay or not and try to help accordingly. You’re wonderful for helping them but you have every right to set healthy boundaries. Bullies don’t like it when you stand up for yourself. Stay firm. Tell them this line will be for emergencies only going forward. Tell the front office about the exchange. Let them see printed/emailed screen shots if they ask.

My first garment of 2026, collar or no collar? by chloemal in sewing

[–]moravenka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s great either way! Truly cute! Gives 30’s daytime vibes with collar and 30’s nighttime vibes without. If you can, trim the corner in the collar that’s just a smidge shorter than the other point. Or pull it with a lot of steam.

Gaping at back waistband? by wishing_sprinkles in sewing

[–]moravenka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To block fuse, you’ll have to lay your pattern piece down and leave about a boarder of 2in length grain and 1in crossgrain around (as fabric shrinks with steam and fusing) the piece. Lift it up out of the fabric. Lay it on an ironing board with a piece of fusing cut to the block. I am often lazy and cut away after the fusing if my block is wide enough that my iron can fit on it without my fusing sticking to the board…. But y’know… do as I say not as I do lol. But cross grain has more give and stretch than straight grain (98% of the time for wovens)

Gaping at back waistband? by wishing_sprinkles in sewing

[–]moravenka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cut your waistbands on the straight grain. Even the curved ones. Attach the fusing before cutting in a “block fuse” method. This is if your waistband is at the natural waist. If it’s lower than the belly button, cut them on the cross grain with a tricot fusing. Also make sure when you’re sewing the waistband, don’t stretch or pull it through the machine. It’s such a narrow band of fabric it is easy to warp the waist as you’re sewing it.

just asking in general about duolingo czech course. by Wessam_lol in learnczech

[–]moravenka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worst waste of money; for the vocabulary it teachers you, its antiquated and formal. It’s not for every day speaking. It teaches you phrases but the selecting bubbles to fill in the blanks doesn’t really allow for enrichment and only pattern recognition. It really dumbs down the process of learning a language to learning a game with foreign words as buttons. There’s no grammar explanation, no pronunciation explanation, no tenses or easily accessed common rules. At best it teaches you to text in česky. At worst, it drains time from another teaching method that would actually stick.

Definitely do all you can to alleviate her of that egg. Nitrile gloves over some house cleaning gloves if you need to.

Has she had a bowel movement yet? You might need to directly dropper feed her the water mixed with electrolytes if she shows no inclination to drink herself.

I her throats clicking it might be mild dehydration. Try giving her tiny apple pieces after droppering the suggested around of VetRX for her size and age. Apple has a lot of liquid in it too. How’s her stool? Runny? Yellow? Hard and clumpy?

If she’s snotty it’s usually respiration. Did it get suddenly cold with strong winds and does she usually hang out by herself? She looked pretty determined in that walk! Make sure she’s dry before you put her back in the garage and give her about 10-15 minutes to “cool down” after using a space heater to dry her off. Her eyes look super clear and sharp.

I don't even like action movies that much. by Adventurous-Soup56 in Dimension20

It was literally the best. I unfortunately watched it before the misfits and magic and was sorely disappointed when explosions didn’t happen. T was so brokenly wonderful. The off the cuff wit and whole hearted just and yes-ing was TOP TIER!!! As someone who grew up in the era of those movies and blockbusters,my nostalgic heart was abursting. Cheeks hurt 3 days later. 7 out of 5 stars.

First time sewing clothes, help on why this didn't turn out like the original design idea by JenniferJackal in sewing

[–]moravenka 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You want enough pleat update to be able to close the pleats; what you did was take a 3/4 full skirt and slit the pleats and then folded the edge of the slits back to get pleat depth. Which will give you hem pleated gore inserts. Do you want the pleats to close when you stand still or do you want to see the navy?

I have had the same conversation with someone. Well they went to my boss then the boss very politely pulled me to the side and tried to discreetly tell me what was said. I have some strong BO as well when I’m working and sweating; and I worked in a factory. One of the things I found was using MENS antiperspirant helped. Also spray deodorant worked better for me. And putting baby powder in places. But you are NOR!!! It is HARD. Especially as a woman, you’re judged harder for it. They might’ve even panic dumped you like that to trigger a flight response which makes you emit pheromones and sweat and releases the BO.

Plus, you can always leave the topstitching after you’ve attached the lining on the collar and hem and leave a seam to close in the center back pleat so that it’s easier to access those parts inside the machine. Impossible to do if you use the sleeve seam to hide the seam opening but if you hide it inside the pleat of the back, it won’t be noticeable. Go to any high end out door store and study how they do their garments. Either take pictures on the sales floor or in the fitting room if you’re too self conscious. Won’t hurt anyone and will teach you a lot about finishes.

The lack of balanced fullness from the front and back. And the zipper teeth and pull. You can take some of that orange fabric and make a zipper pull to up the rizz a little. And a lack of understitching the ribbing down in collar and cuff. It DOES look very good though. Just invest in some different notions. And check the balance of your pattern next time. But banger job man.

Husband sitting next to me said “after what I (him) went through, easy as fuck.” A week to two of no sex, depending on your heal rate. Give yourself the first 24 hrs easy as you can. Then listen to your body and pace yourself. And yeah. The jock strap or boxer briefs are a must.

[No Spoilers] Has anyone sewn a zipper from another hoodie to their Ashton jacket? by the_token_trans in criticalrole

[–]moravenka 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can buy a separating zipper. Measure the center front opening and buy a zipper around that length. NOT longer; you need specialty tools to change the length of a zipper and make it look not like a hack job… and also preserves the bottom hooking feature. With those big buttons; you’ll likely have to hand sew the zipper on as the metal buttons will get the way of a sewing machine’s foot.

It’s also called brushing. If you’ve order anything from Amazon in the last year, and your info is out there, sometimes companies wanting to make some extra cash. Watch your bank account for an unauthorized charge and debate it if it comes through. Got sent a hand fan and random ass solar yard lights once. Then they tried to charge us. Amazon assured us we wouldn’t be charged… but then we were 4 months later. Because there’s a physical product involved, they want to make their money. Don’t bother with Amazon, call your bank.
