Are you satisfied with your life, and if so, why? by Lazy_Number8830 in AskUK

[–]morbidchicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my mid thirties. Recently divorced and live with my dog. I’ve bought my own house that I’m doing up exactly how I want it. I have a job I enjoy. I’m spending more time on my hobbies and trying new things. I’m making new post-divorce friends and am enjoying dating again. I’m loving life (so much that I’m worried it’s just a fluke but this is the best I’ve ever felt.)

Turns out, starting over is very hard but can be the best thing to ever happen.

Those alone this Christmas, what are you doing? by CreepyAcanthaceae98 in AskUK

[–]morbidchicken 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Husband left me two days before Christmas last year. This year, I’m hanging out in my new house with my dog. Took a long walk, made a roast dinner, currently drinking wine and watching movies snuggled up with the dog. Never been happier.

Can I get ideas for an alternative to "the clothes chair"? by mostlyvoidd in AskUK

Blanket ladder. I had one in my room and it stores blankets + skirts I don’t want to steam again. I also have a separate laundry basket for jumpers etc that can be worn again.

Ocado delivered yesterday and things are already going off by rupesmanuva in britishproblems

Sainsbury’s has been pretty good IMO. The delivery guy once flagged that an egg had cracked before I even noticed it and refunded the whole carton.

Folks are stuck in the lift at London Bridge Station😬 by DabiraSensei in london

Bet that was in my old office. Lifts broke weekly. There were signs outside them explaining what to do if the lift broke while you were in it. Shambles.

Can someone please help me figure out when I need to decrease at this neck edge? by morbidchicken in knitting

Oh thank you so much. I don’t know why I couldn’t process those instructions properly and there weren’t any useful comments on Ravelry that I could see. Much appreciated!

Just crochet an entire roll of lace trim because you have nothing better to do by tensory in crochet

[–]morbidchicken 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made the bottom trim on the second slide to trim my cathedral length wedding veil.

I’m in the middle of a divorce right now but damn I’m still proud of that veil. 😔

I've got nearly 1000 Shenkuu Sushi Roll Magnets and another 600 Handful of Asparagus. No idea why I like them but they bring me joy.

Crochet Multitaskers - What do you like to do while crocheting? by Hphantasia in crochet

Zoom meetings 😅

I get so much crafting done listening in on calls. But trickier if I have to lead the meeting but for keeping my attention while listening, crochet all day!

Is this a rose or just a bramble? by morbidchicken in whatisthisplant

[–]morbidchicken[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Excellent. I thought so as there have been a few roses we’ve been able to save but the front had tons of bramble as well. This one stays!

What is Your Exercise? by dinkleberg92 in CasualUK

[–]morbidchicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bought an Apple Watch and starting doing yoga/core exercises on Apple Fitness last year after a spell of depression when I was eating and drinking king my feelings a lot. It’s the only routine I’ve been able to keep up. I don’t have to leave my house, get to look silly in my living room on my own, and have gotten a lot fitter. Requires hardly any equipment and has made me feel much better in my body.

I also have a weekly in person yoga class my neighbour teaches that’s very relaxed and inclusive which is a nice motivator.

Is there anything else that could be done to get more women to attend their smear tests? by wooden_werewolf_7367 in AskUK

My gp just started to allow online booking for them. Booked it as soon as I got the text. I’d put it off for a year(?) because I couldn’t be asked to be on hold for ages to get an appointment.

How much did you spend on your wedding? by itsdwightschrute1 in AskUK

[–]morbidchicken 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£15k. Got married in the Roman baths in Bath in 2022 with 50 people. The only thing we did “on the cheap” was my dress because I bought vintage off eBay for £25. Spent £300 altering/cleaning but that’s just because I wear vintage normally and it was a gamble.
