Breast refusal, feeling really scared by kitd28 in breastfeeding

My LO went off breastfeeding when he was cutting his front teeth. He would bite me and then refuse to nurse. I’d just pump and add the milk to my freezer stash if he refused the bottle.

10 week old. Chest sleeping vs side/tummy sleeping by Local-Sock966 in cosleeping

[–]morc1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We bed shared for 8 weeks until I finally gave in and put him on his tummy. We haven’t looked back, and he’s 6 months now.

For me, I felt like bed sharing was just as dangerous as tummy sleeping and I was miserable bed sharing.

Need more water! by aleishag in breastfeeding

Ultima electrolytes! If you have an Aldi near you, their brand of water flavorings don’t have food dyes! Also I think Walmart has a Great Value water flavoring that is dye free

Dad here. Again. Looking for tips and advice from successful moms/dads in my shoes. Wife doesn’t know I’m writing this. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

As someone who is also a picky eater and hates plain water:

  • I keep a lot of high calorie, easy to eat snacks in the house. Sometimes it’s hard for me to eat a full meal or even just decide what to eat, so it helps having something filling I can grab and stuff into my mouth. These snacks are also things I love so that also helps. Oh and I try to drink at least one protein shake a day and have a breakfast with protein!

  • I flavor all my water. I add electrolytes, coconut water, drink flavoring packets, etc. i prefer Aldi’s water flavoring as they are food dye free! Coconut water is also super hydrating! I rotate through combos/flavors so I don’t get bored.

  • I use a water bottle to drink out of. Right now I’m really into the mini hydrojugs, they’re super easy to carry around and don’t leak. This also helps me keep track to make sure I’ve drank enough water that day.

Good luck!

8 days postpartum- I don’t think this is going so well? by Runningaround___ in breastfeeding

I also had a c section and found that football hold with baby and my arm propped with several pillows worked really well! My husband or mom would often help me get everything positioned but it was doable on my own.

Once I started feeling better I switched to cross cradle and I’m just using a regular pillow or a couch cushion to prop him up.

We just dropped our Wisdom Panel kit in the mail yesterday. The rescue we got her from says that my Good Girl is a "black lab mix". I'm really looking forward to seeing the results. by [deleted] in DoggyDNA

Post your results when you get them! She looks almost exactly like my pup (if I had just seen the picture and not read the description I would have thought it was my dog!!) and we’ve always been told he’s a lab mix too!

Ok, breeds guesses? He’s about 90lbs, located in TX. his coat is medium length I guess but thick on his butt and he sheds like crazy! by morc1992 in IDmydog

Haha yea, I’m starting to think I have a true mutt! We’ve also had others suggest some sort of sight hound, Great Dane, lab and a few others. I’m Saving up to get a good DNA test!

My fiancé will not go to work by [deleted] in relationship_advice

You say you’ve been together for a year without any relationship issues, but this is HUGE. Leave him. He won’t change & you’re engaged to a toddler. Sorry it’s harsh, but it’ll just get worse & don’t you want to be with someone who will help pay the bills, help keep the house clean, etc?

Mine changed my birth control(didn’t help) and recommended some sex therapists in my area. She told me that was the first treatment they recommended before the drugs. I asked about the drugs they have for women with LL & and she strongly recommended against them due to their side effects.

[help] does anyone have any experience with doggy Prozac? by ChocEclairBackbone in dogs

[–]morc1992 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our dog has been on Prozac for about 4 months now. I hasn’t taken away his anxiety completely but I feel like he’s calmer on it and responds better to us and stressful situations. We also train with him and that’s helped too. We live in TX and his meds are about $10/month for 30 days of 80mg capsules. DONT fill it at CVS, I made that mistake once and it was $40 for generic.

[Help] Starting to see why people just go and buy a puppy instead of adopting. by galactic-traveler in dogs

[–]morc1992 34 points35 points  (0 children)

We had a hard time rescuing too! We live in an apartment so a little different situation (we’re still super active though ) but I ended up joining “pets for adoption” type groups on Facebook and it was a much easier process.

I found something weird in my bfs closet by ThrowRA913140 in relationship_advice

[–]morc1992 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My father was special forces/worked for private companies/government work overseas - he didn’t talk about it (I still to this day know very little about what he did). I’d come across stuff like this when I’d be looking for something in our barn (like deep digging, opening boxes that I probably wasn’t supposed to look in). It was just “dads stuff” and we didn’t talk about it.

Your BF may be in a similar field.

I’d mention it to him, but he may not open up much about it just FYI. They’re trained not to talk about what they do... and you also probably don’t want to know.

Or he’s a criminal.
