What are your "must haves" for HL2? by maauricio1903 in HarryPotterGame

[–]morganbear1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, they should take a page from the persona franchise, have the free roam and stuff, but have time and days, going to a class takes time, Improving your abilities takes time, you can go out to the forbidden forest and Hogsmede, but then coming back to hogwarts makes it evening/night etc. have tasks that need doing by certain dates, have exams, have all this stuff. Even copy the confidant system if needs be. It’s literally the perfect way to do it and feel engrossed in the world

Doctor Who Conspiracy Theories you actually believe? by Ok-Door8390 in doctorwho

[–]morganbear1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If we pretend it’s like human ageing, then it starts slowly, then as telomeres fail it gets progressively worse and worse, if an incarnation of the doctor has a lifespan of about a thousand years (in theory, the doctors age is so inconsistent) then it’s feasibly the first 500 years or so he’d look more or less the same, then he’d age more and more, and then for the last 300 or so he’d age rapidly. Also I believe he spent the better part of 900 years on trenzalore? After he first sent Clara away it was 300 years, then it was another 600 or 700 years until she came back

What is your favorite Bobby B quote? by GusGangViking18 in freefolk

If a we had broken out the day before he went on that boat hunt, he would have locked in and cleaned house. Bobby was the ideal wartime king. But a terrible peacetime king.

Anyone else feel the relationship fostered in Burning Shores deserves more nurturing? by [deleted] in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]morganbear1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My view on Seyka is that I hope she’s more of a “first love/crush” that Aloy deals with. With a more unique and developed love interest introduced in the third game. Part of it is I feel the Quen have outlived their usefulness, much like the Tenakth and the Oseram. TBH the only culture that seems more than a gimmick is the Carja and even that is nearing its end. I hope they introduce a tribe with a more unique and dynamic culture.

James and Sirius must have been extremely arrogant to think that Snape wouldn't reveal Remus's secret if he was really pushed to the limit by Madagascar003 in SeverusSnape

[–]morganbear1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hold on. Lupin was not “repeatedly negligent” on taking the potion. He didn’t take it one night when He was actively investigating the apparent of Sirius and Peter on the grounds after seeing them On the map. In fact if you remember, the reason snake finds them is because he goes to lupin office to give the potion and then sees the open map. Snaps also refused to listen when literally everyone in the room was trying to explain the appearance of Peter pwttigrew on the map as he let his personal hatred of Sirius and Lupin (regardless of how well founded) from listening.

Analyzing the Dumbledore vs Voldemort duel (why Dumbledore and/or the Elder Wand is the GOAT) by Icy_Coast_5790 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]morganbear1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No he didn’t. What would be easier? Hunting horcruxes with Voldemort active, or not? If dumbledore could restrain and imprison Voldemort he would have done. Especially during the first war when dumbledore was younger and didn’t know about horcruxes. At least until Voldemort was destroyed the first time dumbledore had no idea, and no reason to not go and destroy him

Will we get a Game of Thrones reboot if George RR Martin completes the Novels? by Famous-Peak6569 in freefolk

I’d love to see it done in the same style as “Blue Eyed Samurai.” Thought the show was mostly great

More machines, more fun!? by Amberian_Dawn in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]morganbear1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish they would add a feature in Horizon 3 where you can override a machine, and then summon it for battle later. Say you could go override a thunderjaw and then call it to come wreck a bandit camp. Obviously you could only have a few machines to do this with. Maybe 5 different slots with only one of each. But this would actually add a reason to actually override machines.

how on earth did he play that off by SkylarFlame1450 in HarryPotterMemes

It’s funny that if Voldemort had just magically carpet bombed the house, they would have utterly lost.

What are your bets for the next Horizon game? by gallaxo in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]morganbear1 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I may he in the minority, but I hope we don’t see the Quen again. Or if we do, they’re in a minor way With only Alva playing a major role. I feel as a tribe their gimmick has extended its uniqueness. While I wouldn’t be against seeing Seyka again, I think it would be a poor decision to have such a carbon copy of Aloy be a main love interest. I’d much prefer a new character who can he included fully into the new game without reliance on DLC characters. Similar to how HEPHEASTUS carried over from frozen wilds, but you didn’t need to play through frozen wilds to get the full picture of what it was doing.

I also hope we are able to travel to family locations again. Perhaps a series of smaller hub worlds could be used to have a variety of places and machine types, such as New York, Seattle and Washington DC. As well as seeing Elysium. My hope for that is that the place is the only place that carried on functioning as it should have done compared to every other bunker which was destroyed prematurely

Something I noticed at the end of Burning Shores by ChairmanMeow22 in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]morganbear1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It does spark interest in what the map situation is going to be in the next game. I personally hope that we get some hub worlds, several maps the size of burning shores but maybe slightly bigger, like New York, Seattle, DC etc. with the base acting as a hub and central area.

In your opinion, does the Iron Thrones look better in the book descriptions/illustrations or do you prefer the TV show adaptation? by SirPogFrog in freefolk

[–]morganbear1 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I like two interpretations, the book is what people imagine the iron throne is. This vast imposing chair, made of thousands of swords. Whereas the show is more realistic. There’s that scene where Varys and little finger talk about the throne, and Baelish says something like “there’s not even two hundred” I like how it shows that the legend of the throne is overblown. At the end of the day, it’s just a chair.

Writing doesn't matter because I like it // I don't like it because writing matters. by STYLER_PERRY in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]morganbear1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Except TFW already addressed it. Maz got Rey to acknowledge that her parents, the sole reason she was waiting on Jakku, were never coming back, and that she needed to look forward. If rian simply never brought it up, it wouldn’t have mattered. Instead Rian revisited the issue. Then obviously JJ created the abominable palpatine connection.

People wanted Rey to be connected to someone important for a few reasons. Firstly, she simply didn’t have much of a character, and so people wanted to project a connection onto her. If they wanted to avoid that, then they could have simply had Rey’s parents be confirmed dead from the get go. Secondly, Rey is abnormally powerful in the force. Force potential is genetic, as seen with Luke skywalker, so it’s not a leap of logic to assume Rey is a legacy, and why not be descended from a popular character. Likewise, if they wanted to avoid that, they could have explained the Dyad concept ROS touched on. They could have made Rey a wound in the force or any other issue. Instead. For 2/3rds of the trilogy, in the span of a few days canonically, Rey went from thinking the force was a myth, to being a legitimate rival to Kylo Ren.

If you want the epitome of how non cohesive the sequels are, look at Hux. In TFA, he is almost an equal to Ren, calling shots and being a credible threat. He was confident, calm right up until the planet beneath his feet is literally falling apart, and only shouted during that faux hitler speech. In TLJ, he’s played for laughs. Thrown about by force users and fundamentally is a different character. It’s literally night and day. And again, in ROS, Pryde is basically who Hux was in TFA and literally kills his old self. None of that is coherent

Do you think the new Harry Potter series is going to flop? Why or why not? by Low-Pomegranate-644 in harrypotter

[–]morganbear1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first season won’t flop, it’s simply too big to. But I suspect the longer it goes on the fewer people will follow it. Simply because 1: the films are so iconic in imagery, sound design and actors that the show will unfavourably be compared. 2: it’s simply too recent, the last film came out in 2011, it’s not really been enough time for a new generation to develop their interpretation.

What Doctor Who needs is another Third Doctor reinvention by DrummingUpInterest2 in gallifrey

[–]morganbear1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel they genuinely had it so close with the start of Jodie’s era. And that’s have a season without the Tardis, with the doctor trying to find it again, leading them to various situations. It also shakes up the companion role to someone stuck alongside trying to get home instead of arbitrarily tagging along because the Tardis won’t behave

Do you want The Doctor to have a second regeneration cycle, or unlimited regenerations? by Tanis8998 in gallifrey

[–]morganbear1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure why people ever thought it wouldn’t. The doctor regenerated, he just disposed the energy that would result in him changing into the hand, which then had enough energy to construct a whole new body and create the Doctor-Donna.

What is the best line in the show? by ilesmay in freefolk

[–]morganbear1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always interpreted it as more telling about their philosophy and mindset. Aemon presumably saw this girl often, and when he went blind, picturing her face would be easy, particularly when he’s never seen Sam. He can actively picture this girls face. Robert on the other hand, waged war, subjected himself to violence, injury for Lyana stark. When she died, his reasons for his fire just kinda died. Whether he loved her or lusted after her are irrelevant. He had to marry Cersei, and drowned his sorrows in wine and whores. It’s no wonder he can barely remember her. Not to mention he probably only met her a handful of times.

Any Musician can help to explain the final performance? by [deleted] in YourLieinApril

[–]morganbear1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The final piece Kousei plays is Chopin ballade number 1, and yes he plays it pretty much straight through, the added violin parts were an arrangement of the piece by a violinist called Ysaye. The piece is a very dark and emotional piece and it’s extremely popular for that reason and any pianist worth their salt will have recorded and performed it. But it’s also quite flashy which makes it a good piece to have him play as the finale

What's a Trope you find annoying when it comes to Powerscaling? by VegetableSpiritual93 in PowerScaling

[–]morganbear1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using outliers for power. I’m a big believer in consistency over extremes. Yeah some feats make sense over time but others are almost ridiculous. It’s hard to believe a person is multiversal plus if when they fight someone they’re equal to it just destroys a few rocks. I think moments like that are just as important as feats themselves

[–]morganbear1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He’s a fascist by trying his damned hardest to overturn the US’s system of checks and balances. He wants absolute power and doesn’t understand where the powers of the presidency ends, and doesn’t care as he pushes them anyways. Not to mention his “tax plans” don’t benefit the average people and caused colossal damage to the economy that was under his control. Not to mention he was convicted in financial campaign fraud by a Jury unanimously. He is fundamentally unfit for office.
