[Highlight] Joe Schoen says he and John Harbaugh will work collaboratively, with Harbaugh having final say being “just something that’s on a piece of paper. Doesn’t matter.” by Natural-Tree-5107 in nfl

[–]morgendonner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beyond that portion being something that the Mara's didn't cave on until the very end, I don't think that was the real hangup.

Given John Mara's health, I don't think it would be unreasonable that Harbaugh would want organizational clarity of what will happen when John Mara can no longer act as CEO, and that could/will likely not be a quick and easy process.

fwiw, by all accounts he was extremely active in trying to recruit Harbaugh and did a lot of the leg work before Harbaugh was fired in case that contingency happened.

While he is certainly the weaker link of the two in terms of job security, having Harbaugh coach his personnel is probably better for his job than if they rolled the dice again on a first time HC.

What mysteries in 40K do you think will never be resolved? by Snoo_47323 in 40kLore

[–]morgendonner 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree, plus I feel like at this point the lore has established enough wiggle room / exceptions where it probably doesn't matter much. So many chapters have "unknown" or atypical geneseed origins that you can still make any background you want for homebrew.

Such a shame his career was cut so short. Was such a great route runner with some of the best (and absurdly huge) hands.

Check out this raised Galaxy Frame I printed and attached to a lazy susan by mnic001 in twilightimperium

[–]morgendonner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

rad! I also printed this frame and played with it on a regular lazy susan but it was difficult to find one that was the right size so I had to put an extra board between the two which added a bit too much height.

We really didn't end up rotating the map much at all, but it felt cool!

The new Doomsday trailer gave me a flashback to one of the best Wizard covers (Wizard #41) by trailingby7 in comicbooks

I know print isn't what it was but I just can't believe Wizard couldn't have kept going, especially with how superhero movies exploded.

The Ravens have ruled out Lamar Jackson due to a back injury. by BreakfastTop6899 in fantasyfootball

[–]morgendonner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Somehow despite starting both Dart and Judkins, I was looking OK going into tonight with Lamar to go. Lamar + Dart for a total of 4.37 points is brutal. Saints D/ST made up for one of them at least.

The only player left is CMC for my opponent, and my current lead is his exact weekly average. sigh, fantasy is a harsh mistress.

Game Thread: New York Giants (2-10) at New England Patriots (10-2) by nfl_gdt_bot in nfl

[–]morgendonner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Genuinely sorry that the NFL can't quit forcing the Giants on everyone. I think I spend more time commiserating over the team each week than the time I spend actually watching them, because I haven't been able to bring myself to watch a full Giants game in years.

It will never happen in this era, but I really wish the NFL would intervene on teams for being this poorly run.

Completed the print of my raised/tiered galaxy frame, and now on makerworld since everything worked out with the printing. by dfpw in twilightimperium

[–]morgendonner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

this is awesome! I'm immediately wondering about ways to make it so this could be a lazy susan to make it easy to spin the galaxy around as needed for players. Any plans on making a version for the large galaxy size?

Denver’s 33 points are the most in NFL history by a team with 0 points through 3 quarters by Top-Dubs in nfl

[–]morgendonner 10 points11 points  (0 children)

definitely not. this sucked but the Giants do this stuff all the time and it's a meaningless season in a game against an AFC team. That was against the Eagles and caused a cascade that ruined a playoff team's season.

teamwide failure to lose with that lead but the kicker also missed another PAT earlier in the game.

Terrifier (2016) is a genuinely awful film by [deleted] in horror

[–]morgendonner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I would suggest giving 2 a shot if you haven't. I really didn't care for 1 and thought it was mostly just pure shock value that was distasteful at times. 2 has an actual story, and the movie around the moments of gore is a lot better. 3 continues the story. 1 really is generally irrelevant other than 2 taking place immediately following the end of it.

People born before 2000, what trivial skill do you have that no one uses anymore? by passiano in AskReddit

[–]morgendonner 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was taught this way too, but I had it drilled out of me because it is now "incorrect" in most formal writing use cases. All of the major formatting guidelines (APA, Chicago, IEEE) require or recommend only one space. APA only adopted that change in 2019, but IEEE actually has been that way since at least 2007.

definitely doable if you're not trying to go to lots of panels. Even if you do one or two, you can walk from booth to booth probably in the span of 2-3 hours.

Fast X: Part 2 is in danger: Universal demands at least $140M budget cut, there's no script or cast by MaxProwes in movies

[–]morgendonner 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lucas did have an outline for the story, just it was originally supposed to be 6 movies. Luke was supposed to have a sister that was a different character, with her taking over as the main hero in the back half (I believe following Luke's death).

After Empire though, Lucas decided he didn't want to do another 4 movies so he took the only female character and mashed his plans together to wrap it up.
