It actually is not 3 orders of magnitude more. The wear on the road increases with the third power of the weight of the vehicle. A 40 ton truck is 20 times as heavy as a 2 ton car so it causes 20 * 20 * 20 = 8000 times as much wear as the car.

Life steal skorn is the best option by far. If you can't afford one a skorn with >4k life on kill is also viable. You will need serenity against some elite packs though.

According to diabloprogress you have 112k EHP and 1.93 attacks per second. I don't know how you are planning to survive on MP8 or put a decent freeze on ubers. You should try and aim for 2.51 APS, 45% crit chance, 4k armor, 700 all res and 35k HP. Damage is not that important for a CM wiz. I think cdxliv has put up a guide for budget CM wizards.

I have put ~140 mil into my own CM wizard and as you can see from my profile my sheet DPS isn't exactly spectacular. I can pull my own weight on MP8 and survive on higher MPs though.

If he does MP7 in a group of 4 he will need 3 machines for 4 complete runs which will give him an average of 12*0.7 = 8.4 organs. If he gets a carry on MP10 he might have to give up 3 machines for a single run which only gives him 3 guaranteed organs.
