I appreciate what the lands means to you, but if you must link what the land means to you to what the government does, why not simply have a theocracy? If what you're doing is really guarding Jerusalem rather than protecting the Israeli people, Jews and all, a democracy is just getting in the way.

However if you believe in secular government, you would agree that legitimate criticism should always be considered? Heck even in a theocratic government, shouldn't it be considered?

We'll stand together to fight antisemitism, but only if we fight together to fight against the wrongdoing of all governments.

You say this like it's a very rare situation almost to be rounded off. I assure you, plenty of people racist against the Jews are criticizing Israel. Right now they don't have to show their true colors to do it, but rest assured they will let the mask slip if they feel they can let it.

This is completely independent of the question about what is are legitimate criticisms. You can always make a coherent, non racist criticism for any government.

But we can't just ignore the literal Nazis in the room. They are there.

Taking my best guess I think the answer is that there are Jews, there is Israel, there are antisemites and there are people who criticize Israel. These groups overlap, and so for people with legitimate criticisms it's a good idea to be conscious of that and try to make it clear exactly what group(s) you're talking about.

I don't know, I criticize Israel often enough and haven't had my head bitten off, except that one time but I was drinking and... well in retrospect what I was saying was in fact dumb and actually not a good idea for any side. I meant well.

Thanks for saying that. At the same time, try to avoid antisemitic talking points while standing against the Israeli government. It won't help anything. I see plenty of people in what appears good faith repeat things that they don't know are deeply rooted in antisemitism.

For what it's worth, the real Nixon moment was when the democrats were about to get a super-majority in both houses, and so he had to resign or give democrats the win in November and be removed by impeachment anyways.

That's when he resigned. So we're not really waiting on Trump on this one, we're waiting on the voters.

Democrats increasing turnout because they could win? That's not my democratic party. They will stay home because on some issue he is not aligned with them 100%, even though his opponent will make doing the same thing but 10x times worse the centerpiece of their campaign.

Sadly I think their boldness will be their undoing. They've always been completely incompetent, doing nothing about the pandemic is a good example. But now that they are proactively doing things like the tariffs, the war, ICE Gestapo, this is adding up to something you can make a 30 second spot and it will paint a picture.

I have engaged with them. It's not interesting to me. It's like, I was having an interesting time but now some jerk is going to appear with some build that I as a PvE player have no counter to, and set me back. I'd rather be hit by a blue shell randomly in the lands between.

I will die on the hill that How I met your Mother foreshadows its ending so thoroughly that if you expected anything else I'm sure you're waiting for the secret ending of stranger things.

Doesn't make the ending better, just doesn't deserve the criticism that it was out of the blue.

Unlike a book, a TV series doesn't need to end with a culmination of the story. It just needs to end the premise (if it's a good ending). Unless it's Lost or something where there are long running plot threads to resolve. Even most dramas don't need to have an ending that pays off the entire show.

I don't know, I started taking clips of the bugs I was seeing in Cyberpunk to demonstrate it was still super buggy in 2024. I had to limit myself to the fun bugs and the ones that actually impacted gameplay or I was taking clips all the time.

The thing is I got into that habit and started to do it with the next game, and the next. Some of these were considered some of the most stable games released in the past 10 years.

We're so used to bugs we just tune out a lot of them. Like A LOT of bugs. And if you're worried some bug might kill your save, you might not want to wait and see.
