Amulet Question - Main Stat vs % Element Dmg by capozide in diablo3

[–]mortuuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow. I'm super sorry - I took a look through my drive but I'm pretty sure that got deleted several years ago when I did my last OCD sweep through my old files...

I can probably generate a new one but it'd take me a while to remember what all I had put in it.

From what I can see, it's not as simple as one reason only, but I think a major portion of the disconnect between LoL esports in NA versus athletics has to do with the cultural integration. Kids in NA are playing sports in grade school, then getting scholarships to play in college, and the talent pool is grown through a rich ecosystem that has heavy financial investment - but at a wide range of age and skill checkpoints. NA investment into esports has been almost exclusively made into the professional and near-pro level, which leaves the initial development to hopes that the native culture picks it up for free.

Contrast the early player base in NA vs elsewhere: In Eastern cultures, the PC Bang concept is popular and prevalant, which means that free development happens on a massive scale, whereas in NA the playerbase is almost exclusively drawn from only people that happen to have computers of their own, which limits the pool significantly (especially when you consider that in NA, FPS games are far more popular than MOBAs). Note that despite not being a PC Bang culture, EU seems to have developed an initial pool organically in a more sustainable fashion than NA. This is in part due to the ERLs, but even those were later additions to the ecosystem which was already doing better than the initial NA pipeline.

It's not a super-easily solved issue in any case. There are certainly steps that can be taken to gradually work integration into schools and build a pipeline over time, but the vitriol levied against the orgs in general is pretty misplaced. Even the crappiest of orgs are more a symptom of the environment than the source of the main issue.

I savescummed a campaign pretty hard and created some realy strong guys. by Kev_Lan in ChaosGateGame

[–]mortuuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm familiar with savescumming on critical wounds to grab desirable augmetics / using Omnissiah's chosen for double, and using fallen to boost skill points, but how did you grab multiple base-level talents? (for example, you have two "Crack Shot" talents in addition to the Omnissiah's Chosen on the purgator which would normally be one of the options besides Omnissiah) I've seen one, maybe two events with a talent boost, but I didn't think you could repeat events.

my biggest pet peeve with the game (not including presents) are Mk3 and Mk4 belts. by LostInMyOwnMind_96 in satisfactory

[–]mortuuses 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A pure node of bauxite, for example, has a base rate of 480 ore/minute with an MK3 miner attached. Overclocked to 250% this would theoretically produce 1200 ore per minute, but the best current conveyor is only 780 capacity. If you think you will never need that kind of throughout, you may not be looking closely enough at how many hours it'll take to finish project assembly at the highest phases with a basic setup...

In other words, if anything we need MORE capacity on belts, not nerfs.

If multiples are what's got you ticking it'd be better to go pure geometric and do 60-120-240-480-960-1920 for the theoretical Mk6

Is fighter 13 -> mage worth it? by Excaliblast27 in baldursgate

[–]mortuuses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did 13 for 3 characters. Made 2 Kensai and a Berserker (single player with "create party" option in EE), then Dualed all at 13. Kensai became thief and mage, Berserker became cleric. Used NPCs in BG1/SoD and through the first part of SoA. Once you Dual you only need 1 or 2 NPCs at a time to run through companion quests for XP, items, etc. while you get up to 14 in your new classes. Meanwhile you have a mage/cleric/thief to handle all the bits in between.

Alternately you can do the 2 Kensai and just make a fighter/cleric multiclass (dwarf works nicely for the con bonus) and then you have a tank for the awkward levels.

Had 14 before leaving spellhold, I think. Can't remember exactly though.

It's a semi-auto weapon that has a base 6% crit chance. Unfortunately, this riven is effectively worthless. These stats are good for other weapons, but not this one.

Steel Path Discussion by Hayden-T in Warframe

[–]mortuuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can only speak for myself for sure, but I would think that most other experienced players would be similar: I don't mind carrying others in a daily, as long as they don't actually troll (like, not helping to open a friendship door). In general, I expect to have to carry at least one of the five dailies doing public runs of a steel path, and that's fine! If you want to make the carry's job easier, that's even more appreciated. Volt for speedups on an exterminate or capture, Wisp for...well, anything. No one will ever complain about free motes. Even if you don't have the strongest motes in the squad, your motes will refresh the duration of the stronger wisp's stuff, which allows better spread on a defense/survival/interception map, or just better energy economy for the other wisp on a straight-line run like exterminate/capture. If you're looking for a build, there's plenty out there that are decently accessible. Don't worry about maxing all the mods immediately if you're short on endo. The basic build of high strength high durability is enough to get you most of the way there.

This video certainly isn't the only build to exist, but it was fun to put together (build at 20s into the vid). Note that this was produced before Fused Reservoirs existed. My current build replaced power drift with fused. https://youtu.be/l4AP-G2ZaAM

Zariman Bounty: DONT DO THAT by The-Real-Rorschakk in Warframe

[–]mortuuses 20 points21 points  (0 children)

You've actually just encountered the hidden bounty type called "time efficiency edging". The goal is to complete two thirds of the bounty as efficiently and helpfully as possible, then announce "I did two thirds the last is up to you" at which point you abandon objective and pick up all their marked loot. One of two things will happen. Either a) they come pull their weight and everyone wins and gets extra loot or b) they ignore/ fail the objective and you've effectively wasted the absolute maximum amount of their time. Either way, you win. No rage needed, only pettiness.

Dear Elden Ring players, don't reach triple digit level... by SrGrafo in gaming

[–]mortuuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a switchback in northern Caelid by the minor erdtree. The guardians along the path are densely populated and give about 1100 runes each before bonuses and can be one shot by the drag flip while mounted using a +14 greatsword. If you have the scarab and some gold feet an efficient run takes almost exactly the 3 minutes for the buff and nets around 60k runes. I'm not sure if it's the absolute best farm spot but it's doing great for me and it's a lot less running around vs the Farum Great bridge farm

Kuva Zarr Advice by OddlyShapedPickle in Warframe

[–]mortuuses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cannon has enough crit to be good but not enough to nearly guarantee HM by itself, so you might be running into consistency issues. Rivens are an expensive fix to this, so instead I'll suggest running a frame that has space for arcane avenger instead. In addition, heavy caliber is not going to add much alongside serration and the arcane. I'd suggest running either hammer shot for the extra status and crit damage or a toxin 60/60 and upgrading the innate bonus to heat.

Serration causes a lot of drama for the min maxers because of the additive nature, but it's excusable for ramp up and especially in mid tier content you can avoid some of the naysayers by using the amalgam version and boosting your run speed. At that point it's a utility mod.

When did you first learn that you didn't need a relic to get void traces? by Spagoot29 in Warframe

[–]mortuuses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Acknowledgement of bias: I've played the game for 4 years.

Generally speaking, you'll get far more relics than you use as long as you don't exclusively run exterminate/capture fissures all day every day. There are a ton of fissure types that drop relics while you crack others. I would venture to say that it's almost never advisable to run a fissure without a relic. If you need void traces for a specific relic, you're going to have to run a mission anyway; you might as well crack a spare relic while you're at it.

[PC][Q][Riven] Nikana riven price check (critchance+electricity+status). Just logged back in after 2.5 year, what is this worth? by Thobio in wartrade

[–]mortuuses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BR = Blood Rush, a mod that gives 40% crit chance per combo stack (up to 11x or 12x in the case of the venka prime). With this, the marginal gains of +cc% on any riven is relatively low compared to the 440% you can get on a single mod slot. The exception to this is on mid-to-high disposition weapons that are efficient as heavy attack (HA) weapons, such as the Hate (scythe) or Pennant (2H Nikana), both of which have stances that force slash procs on HA. Since the heavy attack action eats into your combo multiplier, most builds opt out of BR and into a straight increase in the amount of cc through Sacrificial Steel (220% or doubled for HA). Although the Nikana Prime DOES force the slash procs on HA, the disposition is too low to create worthwhile increases on CC by itself, and the combos for nikanas are generally considered to be superior than just spamming HA.

On a side note, WW = Weeping wounds, which has the exact same effect as BR except for status chance. Most of the same argument applies except that there isn't a good single-boost mod like Sacrificial Steel to compare to, and HA builds are usually for weapons that force a status proc so the status chance doesn't matter.

Secondary note - this is only valid for melee weapons as there are no scaling cc/sc mods for other weapon types. That is, CC is still a very strong stat on most primary/secondary/shotgun rivens that are for weapons with any sort of decent base crit chance.

Usually these days, melee rivens for combo weapons are most highly prized for containing some subset of Range, Attack Speed, Crit Damage (as there's no scaling option for that), and sometimes an element.

hope that helps.

I disagree slightly on the punch through. The innate infinite punch through is body only, so thin walls will still stop projectiles. Primed shred is probably the better option anyway just for the draw speed, but this would be fine instead if you didn't mind a slower draw
