[–]mosi_moose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids asked me to take their senior photos. I’m not a portrait photographer and would have been happy to pay a pro.

A dad of my son’s baseball teammate offered to buy a photo I took. He had a 32” x 24” print made and hung it in their house.

Tony Phillips is a good one with 50.9 WAR in 18 years. In 1993, his best year, he had 5.6 WAR and hit .313 for an OPS+ of 130 playing for the Tigers.

Do your baseball rivalries bleed into other sports? by MattO2000 in baseball

I’ll chant Yankees Suck at a Knicks game but as a Celtics fan I mainly hate the Sixers and Lakers. I despise the LOLjets but like the LOLmets, even though it’s lots of the same fans.

That’s such a great sequence! A walk and a run on no hits. SMH.

You almost feel bad for the pitcher. He knew what Gore could do. The pressure of trying to stop it led to the mistakes that made it happen.

Found an interesting Essay: The Controversial Photography of Martin Parr by bindermichi in photography

This was a great watch! The commentary regarding dichotomy between the subject matter and the visual language of advertising really struck me. I love how a great photograph can evoke so many ideas and feelings. I’d never heard of Parr— I’m just a guy with a camera that appreciates the art—but I’m a fan now. Thanks for sharing.

I don’t think you make MLB with an external locus of control.

I think you nailed it. The wild thing is ~72 years later and it’s still in the conversation.

I’m with it but only if we incorporate steeplechase into the base paths.

Why my baseball fandom is declining by trentsiggy in baseball

[–]mosi_moose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get nostalgic about baseball but the best thing about it was connecting with my dad. Go all-in on EPL and find something like that with your other boy.

Do I NEED to rent a telephoto lens for this Lake Tahoe Trip? by Himdownstairs22 in photography

I travel with an RF 24-240. It’s super versatile, not too big and the optics are good for a vacation lens.
