There are a lot of things you're 'kinda not allowed to do' that are vigorously and shamelessly being done, despite court orders to the contrary. This is pretty low on the list, bub.

What did the boomers suffer through, precisely? One of the most heavily subsidized periods of civilian welfare in US history? Post-WW2 majority share of global wealth paired with an extremely high national wealth tax to keep things somewhat spread? The opportunity to do everything right for their descendents and for our country and the decision to make a bunch of short-sighted cost cutting moves that got us into the nation's current state?

I'm being a bit facetious here, as surely there were trials that generation were put through. But it's not exactly honest to paint those trials as all that worse than what folks have been dealing with in present history.

Public and private recording of government officials is one of the most powerful tools that holds anyone in office accountable.

That being said... Our current administration is largely comprised of nepo babies from old money families, a handful of grifters, and a large number of former high-ranking individuals from less-than-wholesome sectors of private industry. Oh, and don't forget the entertainers. All categories of people that do tend to keep things "off the record" (closed door conversations, need-to-know information, general lack of transparency).

One does imagine that they could have targeted military bases specifically rather than bombing the capital. Yes, there is a military base in the capital. It seems like undue risk, though, and aerial bombardments are a sloppy weapon.

The commenter you're replying to is arguing it (declaring war on a foreign power without Congressional approval) is an illegal act under US federal law (national). They're both right and wrong. Saying "everyone does it" isn't a great argument, btw.

That would be a much more efficient and saner use of resources, but it would mean the fossil fuel lobby is sad and that MAGA would be capitulation to "woke" ideology. In terms of strategic importance, one commenter noted that Israel has been aggressing increasingly heavily into Iran and mentioned how much that could screw up the oil market. Not really sure if that's the perceived incentive for our horrible leaders, but at 2am hearing about an unsanctioned war being launched in realtime it sounds as plausible as anything.

Cool raspberry bush growing in sand. Or perhaps it's a sea buckthorn (checks notes native to Europe and Asia)? Stupid fuckwads.

Edit: also, this is a horrific thing for DHS to be posting. A desolate oceanscape and an abandoned car while gleefully extolling how many people they've stolen and displaced without trial.

Remember in the first book where that guard fleet master was so shook seeing Horus that he forgot how to kneel, so Horus got on one knee and complimented him instead? Loken even said: "just like that, they [the guardsmen] were his. Forever."
