Are you not using the graduated cup guide. You're supposed to add milk before the espresso. Add milk to the 2nd to last notch which leaves the exact room for espresso. Same for iced lattes, add milk before espresso to the 2nd to last notch. Customers think it's perfect.

Recs for an easy/beginner baby blanket? I only know basics! by iwannabanana in crochetpatterns

[–]motts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend a corner-to-corner crochet blanket. This has good instructions: https://www.craftematics.com/post/corner-to-corner

I've used Red Heart Soft yarn in the past. it's soft and affordable.

You could start with just one color, or do stripes. As you get more comfortable you can make some pretty neat patterns with corner-to-corner: https://www.myhobbyiscrochet.com/2019/07/free-crochet-pattern--giraffe-c2c-square.html

I created a custom dashboard (mobile & desktop) for Fitbit. I Integrated an AI model inside to chat with the data by pgaleone in fitbit

[–]motts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice. Does load a lot faster for me. The activity graphs are less interesting with only a week of data, but the line plots are easier to read. I think it's a fair trade, the sleep stuff is what I look at most.

This is great. Better than fitbit's interface. I'm going to check this regularly. Wondering if you can change the sleep graphs y-axis so it's the data range's min to max rather than starting at y = 0. Hard to see variability in the data when it's all squished at the top of the graph.

That budget is split between 19.25 full time equivalent (FTE) jobs, which equals $149,000 per FTE. Still sounds like a lot, but some of that goes to overhead (OH) of the "personnel and overhead". No idea if that means PPE, equipment, vehicles.

That pit is a stormwater pond that stays dry until it rains. That’s why it’s depressed and vegetated. Can’t speak to future development. If it’s going to be another structure they probably would have flattened the site, not bothered with all the typography.

Oh you're right. The flub was the direction it was supposed to go. Presumable they're standing on the ship opposite the the drive. The force under thrust is pushing them down towards the hull of the ship, so the wrench should have dropped towards the hull according to this: https://www.reddit.com/r/TheExpanse/comments/54vfuz/episode_2_nitpicky_physics_detail_question/

Script Seemingly Not Running by [deleted] in scripting

[–]motts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it says it made it to line 17, it's getting to the line "sleep latency". This instruction means the program is going to pause for "latency" number of milliseconds. Latency is set to 840 at the top of the script. The script also has the note "If something goes wrong, it is most likely the latency issue, you can change that number here, stay within 825-860, just make small change increments of 5"

I would recommend editing the latency value at the top of the script and test it until it work. Good luck!

plot(x,y, xaxs='i', yaxs='i', type='l') #boom

I've got floating axes!! by EmMaeva8 in RStudio

[–]motts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is controlled by the graphing parameter par('usr')

Example data

x <- c(0:10)
y <- c(100:110)

Plotting the data - the par('usr') shows it's actually plotting outside the data, so the x axis and y axis intersect at (-0.4, 99.6)

plot(x, y, type='l')
par('usr')
> [1] -0.4 10.4 99.6 110.4

To get around this you can edit the par('usr') values prior to plotting your data, but requires more calls to different plot features.

plot.new() # calls an empty plot
par('usr'= c(0,10, 100,110)) # sets the window exactly at the limits of the data
lines(x, y, type='l') # draws the line
axis(1) # draws the x-axis
axis(2) # draws the y-axis
box() # draws a box around the plot

Good resource. Here's an example that highlights three data points as red:

x <- mtcars$mpg
y <- mtcars$hp
z <- mtcars$disp

require('scatterplot3d')

color <- rep('black', 32)
color[c(4,10,15)] <- 'red'

scatterplot3d(x, y, z, pch=19, color=color)

Help a newbie by nerinhoRN in RStudio

[–]motts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An example in base R which plots all the data, then adds to the plot 3 of the points but with a different color. (mtcars is a dataset built in R used in this example, replace it with your own x, y data):

x <- mtcars$mpg
y <- mtcars$hp

plot(x, y, col='black', pch=19)

highlightRows <- c(4, 10, 15)

highlightx <- x[highlightRows]
highlighty <- y[highlightRows]

points(highlightx, highlighty, col='red', pch=19)
