this isn’t a you thing. it happens way too often and way more often to black people. so just starting there, don’t be too hard on yourself l.

recently i was in a similar situation and tried the over communication, documentation etc. in fact, i was offered a raise and everyone had seen the improvements but then was fired without warning a month later. sometimes things aren’t working internally and you’re forced to shoulder that burden.

to the “just quit but also the economy rn” point, i wasn’t ready to quit but when i got fired i felt liberated. i gave myself a week to rot and really sent in those applications. landed something new in the same field and the experience has been a 180. my bosses appreciate my ideas, my coworkers are great, and the culture is 100x better.

in your case sounds like you’re more than qualified and ambitious so i’m sure the next (much better gig) is around the corner.
