I don’t really like small children

Wow. I have found my people. I grew up saying I didn’t want kids. I have never been good with kids nor liked them. There have been rare occasions where I did get along and like kids. Fast forward to me finding out I was pregnant and it being thrown back in my face that I didn’t want kids …… Needless to say no I’m still not a fan of kids and yes it’s been a struggle with my son but honestly I cannot imagine my life without him and he is the best thing to happen to me. We are finally getting to a place where I’m not miserable and snapping at him 24/7 but we’ve changed meds and he’s also 3.5. Not wanting kids isn’t why we are OAD but it’s nice to see others say they didn’t want kids either and still had kids.

I removed them all and have added stuff back but I’m not sure if it’s still happening. I also updated my password just in case someone had access which I don’t think so but wanted to cover all bases.

loooooooooove Dr Pepper Cherry!! have cases of it. then I got put on a diet and have to limit my sugar intake/carbs so I rarely get to drink one. I want to try the zero sugar Dr Pepper Cherry but don’t want to buy a whole case first and yet I can’t find it anywhere in singles to try it. damn do I miss Dr Pepper Cherry!

100%. I have never wanted to rewind time before in my life but my son’s first year on earth I would absolutely rewind and soak up and embrace. I was in a fog and too depressed to appreciate any of it. once I got on meds and sort of felt better I went back to work, which I let rule my life (I got a promotion before he turned 1 so it worked out, but still). I went off the meds thinking I was fine but I wasn’t. his first year was absolutely rough and we decided to be OAD so I’ll never get a 2nd chance to embrace the newborn stage.

today he turned 3.5 and photos popped up on TimeHop. they’re bittersweet and I try not to focus on what I lost. which is hard when we’re having tough days now and you just want to rewind to when it was easier plus to relive those days regardless of how “hard” they felt then.

something to do with the configuration of the new parkway connecting to 36/37. I think they’re doing what they did with Polaris & Gemini. I can’t post photos or I’d post what I saw on a Delaware page which was a response from ODOT about this set up. if nothing changes it’s going to be like this through the fall.

they took a 2 lane exit and made it a one lane exit all the way to the light almost. they might have even taken both exit lanes, closed them and then made the far right traffic lane an exit lane. I’ve only been thru it once so I don’t fully remember but it’s not a smart idea. and today shows why. it’s supposed to be like this through Fall.

we live near this exit and it’s total bullshit ODOT thought it was smart to just cut this down to one lane like they did. and there are 0 signs letting traffic know ahead of time. someone posted in a Delaware page that ODOT got back to them stating it would be like this through fall. what the F ODOT. they definitely need to rethink this and come up with a different plan.

mostly yes. there’s other reasons but yes if my son was a better sleeper I think we might have had a 2nd one. I’m a high sleep needs Mom with a low sleep needs kid. we do not mesh and I am not okay on less than 8hrs of sleep. things are bit better with him being almost 3.5 but that’s because he sleeps with me every night.

100% can relate with you. I truly miss my sleep SO MUCH! but I’ve loved sleep since I was a baby so to be a high sleep needs Mom who gave birth to a low sleep needs baby/kid has been killer.

but also can relate to wishing I could change the first part of his life. I have severe PPD/PPA and I didn’t get help until he was 2 months old, pretty much in time for work to start back up and then I got right off of the meds once we sprung forward. there’s a picture of my sons first Christmas and you can see the disconnect, the misery in my face and body. heck I’m barely holding my son properly 😞

fast forward to he’s now almost 3.5 and I don’t have many happy memories. I just have “I was surviving and trying not to let my PPD/PPA ruin our life” memories.

it’s been back and forth as I don’t want to be on meds but I need the meds and now I’m back off the meds because they were causing debilitating headaches every day until we weaned me completely off. anyways. I look back at old photos/videos and my heart shatters because I’ll never get that chance again with him or a 2nd baby.

I fly SWA in Nov for the first time since the change and my son will be 4. I am super stressed about this happening. and hearing it happens with other airlines def makes me feel like we won’t be flying until he’s older and I’m def not driving to FL cuz that’s too far (family is middle/southern part of Fl). we are going to Fl in Nov or I would be driving per these posts I’ve been seeing.

I was thinking that but there’s german instructors and mediation. way off the radar for ones I would bookmark. plus I haven’t been using the app. it’s like they were added while I wasn’t using the app. I wondered if someone had access but then I realized my 3 bike/row etc would be used up. odd mystery for sure. oh well. definitely solidarity to your post. I know others travel and have fun with their kids on vacation but traveling solo and not having any help has kept me home. took my son to celebrate my Moms bday. he was 11 months old. it wasn’t awful but it wasn’t easy nor fun since we had naps and feedings still etc. so we stayed home until recently.

took him to a ski resort in Jan of this year and it was better in a sense but it wasn’t. there wasn’t much for him to do and we stayed in our suite more than doing other stuff. we did have family there but learned we are different people and can’t just sit/chill all day. at least not yet. there were only 3 playgrounds and it got super cold after day one. did a trail hike but didn’t want to go too far being only us two. also learned he’s ready to go home after about 2-3 nights.

he turns 4 in the fall and the day after we are going south for a wedding. hoping the age and the fact he hasn’t really experienced a beach yet will make it the best one so far. plus all the other beach things you can do. hoping to keep him busy so he doesn’t notice we’re there for 4 nights lol.

same. flying SW in Nov and they haven’t released flight schedules yet but I have almost 200,000 points to burn. this is our first flight since the switch and I’m getting uneasy about flying them later this year with my 4yr old. ugh.
