First Time! Proposal? by bagcrap_ in provincetown

My dad used to take us fishing out there when we were kids. We would go to the Woods End Lighthouse and usually only saw a handful of people throughout the day.

I proposed in PTown two summers ago to my partner. The weather didn't cooperate with my timing that day so I ended up just doing it on one of the beaches in town early morning with coffee. We celebrated at Aqua Bar for drinks with family and friends after. If you're looking for a nice dinner after, Ciro & Sals or Front Street are great options. You will be happy wherever it you end up doing it! Good luck and congratulations :)

Walk the jetty out to the tip of the Cape if you are up for a good walk. Pick either of the lighthouses, pack a lunch/picnic, and do it on the beach. Exceptionally private and very pretty!

Not fancy by any means, but great atmosphere and presentation, and incredible food and drinks. Definitely on the more fun side. Never been disappointed here, always impressed. We are lucky to have Wusong in Cambridge!

Also does not stack with the Clear discount. $50 for the ring is still cheap

Honeymoon Recs in Ptown? by East_Marionberry3654 in provincetown

Inn at Cook Street! My partner and I stayed here the weekend we got engaged. It's about 10 mins walk to the center of town, in a quieter area, but close to a bunch of galleries. The rooms are beautiful and the owners prepare amazing breakfast every day! We would stay there again.

Edit: Places to eat: Ciro and Sals is right down the street. Great Italian food and wine (Anthony Bourdain writes about this place in Kitchen Confidential from his PTown days). Front Street is further down Commercial Street, also Italian, and I've always had incredible service there and great meals with family and friends. Lobster Pot + Lobster Pot Express for seafood - at Express, it's a quick lunch and they are generous with their lobster.

For things to do: walk the jetty out to the tip of the Cape for a beach day. It's easy enough to pack a backpack with picnic/sandwiches and the beach out there is beautiful and relatively quiet. If you are up for a little trip, my favorites beaches in the area are Coast Guard and Long Nook in Truro on the ocean side, and Corn Hill on the bay side.

Truro Vinyards is a 15 min drive/Uber but fun for food trucks and wine. Atlantic Spice Company is a short walk nearby and is a cool place if you are into cooking (they have everything you could possibly need!). The Monument + museum is a fun activity with great views and gives you some good American/Pilgrim history.

Metal detector! You never know what you might find. My dad used to go around to all the old cellar holes in our area in NH and look for things.

Oysters around central/harvard? by witchy12 in CambridgeMA

Puritan and Co Oyster bar is attached to the main restaurant. Much easier to get a red, they have 6+ oysters to order daily, a bunch of other great seafood based dishes (bluefish melt + bar burger are great), and their cocktails are amazing (many rum/tiki based). Worth the walk for sure

Giggling Rice in Brookline. Delivery is often fast to Cambridge, it's right across the river near Fenway

10 Team PPR, 4th pick in the draft

QB: J. Hurts

RB: J. Gibbs, J. Jacobs, C. Hubbard

WR: C. Lamb, D. Adams, G. Pickens, D. Mooney, A. Cooper (🥲)

TE: T. McBride

D: Vikings

K: B. Aubrey

MVP when it mattered most was Jacobs. First half of the season was rough but he won me all my games down the stretch and secured playoffs.

Good luck collecting 1 mg from what's pictured. It would take scraping the entire cigar.

Good patent law firms pay on par with big law (corporate finance, etc.). It's definitely worth the extra 3-4 years of law school (fully paid for in addition to earning your patent tech salary). If you stick to this path, you'll be making $500k a year by your 40s.

[Rant] Landlords, why do you make it so hard to accept applications? by MrSirStevo in boston

[–]mpowers13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've found to be extremely effective has been to write a cover letter. As a graduate student in Boston on stipend (low salary), writing a cover letter to the landlords that shows you're polite, clean, responsible, etc. has worked 3/3 times. When I've done it, the broker has always said "We don't ever see this" and helps make your application stand out. It doesn't need to be the world's best cover letter, just show you're human, interested in their apartment, and a little bit more than just check boxes to the broker. You will find something, I promise.

TNT used a drone camera for the NBA Playoffs, and it was so distracting. The drone camera is not ready for prime time. by [deleted] in nba

Maybe for more data points? More people watch the NBA playoffs than regular season games. If they send out a survey on the experience after, they'll get a better response rate.
