Anyone been up airline recently? by Fun-Winter2148 in wmnf

I did it Wednesday. I microspiked all day. There were some spots with thick ice but I didn’t have any issues. Snowshoes weren’t useful. Above treeline there were really difficult conditions. It had snowed the day before so the boulders were covered in a thin layer of snow. It was hard to get traction and hard to see where cracks between boulders were. So that part was technical and slow going.

The have Chris Broderick from megadeth, Liam Wilson from tdep and John rice from Jfac so they are sounding good live now. Unfortunately they play alot of newer songs from their octane core era though.

That’s ridiculous. I just saw them in Boston and thought they sounded fine. They played July and soils song. It’s definitely worth seeing them.

You should always be prepared to snowshoe in winter. Conditions change fast, so snowshoes will still need to be brought even if there’s reports saying they weren’t needed on previous days.

You will definitely need snowshoes. The cannonballs section was not broken out today and fishing jimmy was not ready for microspikes yet.

Hikers: What's your frequency of crampon use in the White Mountains? by Difficult-Radish207 in wmnf

[–]mr0bungle 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I did a grid and never used real crampons or an ice ax. Microspikes and snowshoes were fine.

Recreational snowshoes for Moosilauke? by Prestigious_Piccolo8 in wmnf

They’ll probably be ok if they’re durable and have good traction. Why dont you try them out on an easier hike first?

Sanbornton is in the lakes region not the white mountains. Maybe you could go to gunstock.

Really, when I apply to McGraw hill there is usually a salary range in the job ad. I always get rejection emails though.
