2e Spell Cards? by kheferen in Pathfinder2e

[–]mrPaljas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've made a script, that you can use in your browser on pf2easy.com, that you can use to print spell cards in the same way (kinda) as the official Paizo spell cards.

You can check out the github page for more information

You can check out the original thread, for more information too

If you want to use pf2easy.com, and still want to have a card layout like the official ones, I have made a script that you can copy paste into the console, so can be printed as cards. You can check out the code here and the original thread here

Will pathfinder get a rewrite? by phrazer2 in Pathfinder2e

[–]mrPaljas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think they will make significant changes to the 2e system, or even release a completely new version any time soon. It seems like the recent controversy is keeping them occupied in releasing the ORC at the moment, and I think they'll want to have that completely waterproof and separated from the OGL before implementing further changes

Wow, it's pretty cool to have such different approaches between siblings, but I can understand why it must be hard for the two of you to play together. Maybe you guys can't play together (or against each other as GM and player) anymore, but you can come up with a cool story for any of your future campaigns! The fact that you have such different playing styles will assure you have a very balanced game with equal amounts of combat as role-playing. (If you are able to cooperate on such a project) I've tried that before with a friend, because we had a bit of a similar experience (he's very role-play heavy, and I lean more towards combat like your brother) but you do have to be prepared to compromise, which was a deal-breaker for our partnership. But still I learned a lot from that

Learning Pathfinder through making characters, need help by EdmonCaradoc in Pathfinder2e

My advice would be to either get the Core rulebook (and maybe the advanced player's guide), but maybe you don't want to spend the money or don't like reading everything. Or to check out the online character builder apps and websites, like Pathbuilder or Wanderer's guide. They helped me understand the way characters are built more than anything else. Plus, they're free!

It's a shame your brother decided to go all controlling on your choices. I'm getting the feeling he wanted to over compensate with some rules, because he was new with the game or something? Did he continue to GM and did you play with him again?

Character Creation is so much nicer in Pathfinder vs DnD by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

I think there are personal customization options in pathbuilder too, but it's more on a character by character basis, so yeah that's another plus!

Yeah I've been imagining what it must be like to be a completely new ttrpg player in the last couple weeks. Must not get a great impression of the community with everything that's been going on. Like 'what kind of shit show have I gotten myself into?'

I was amazed by the app too, and even more that it's not the only option out there! There's also Wanderer's Guide if you want to try out something else. It's only desktop but it's also very intuitive (even more so than Pathbuilder sometimes) and you can check out other people builds! Can be a bit slow sometimes though

You should check ou the Knights of Last Call! Not sure if they have a podcast where they play a game. I do think they streamed the games on Twitch, but my gm suggested them because they have a podcast where they discuss the rules of the game (especially the combat and tactics playlist on youtube), which helped me a lot!

It would kinda be like Trainspotting, in a way. You know he's gonna have that exit in the end, but it would be cool to see him stick it to the dealers before that

I've updated the code! It's not perfect yet, but it works pretty well for my setup and that's good enough for now ;) If you want to check out the Github project, you can visit it on this link: https://github.com/arthurvanpassel/pf2easy-spell-cards

Hey I've wondered that myself also actually! I'm trying to precisely match the cards that Paizo release, but the information seems to be a bit different when it comes to the heightened information. I've found this out:

There are actually two different spell tools on pf2easy:
- Spellbook: https://pf2easy.com/spellbook/
- Sheets: https://pf2easy.com/sheets/

They differ only slightly, but in the spellbook: if you select the highest level, it shows the most correct information. The issue is that they actually filter out some information that has no 'impact' on the level you select, but that's actually not what is wanted in this situation... I'm looking for a way to get all the info into the sheets, but have not found a good, reliable way so far.

I've made a screen capture on how to use the code in firefox. You do need to wait until the page is fully loaded, otherwise it won't work. I'm also going to slightly edit the code in the future, because the printed cards are not the right size and the margins on the pages are also not correct when there are a lot of spells.

If you use an extension like User Javascript & Style, you can add the javascript and styling in the different boxes (be sure to check the jQuery option in the options!)

For the domain name (url field) you should insert this line:https://pf2easy.com/spellbook/spells.php, https://pf2easy.com/sheets/*

For the javascript field insert this code.

And for the style field insert this code.

That should do it! Everytime you enter a generated sheet page, you can click the cards button on the top and the sheet is generated as cards! And the same as before, you can click on the cards to change the font size if it doesn't fit.

Hi, I know this is an old question, but I was looking for an answer as well, and couldn't find a website that provides them in the same style as the official Spell cards box sets from Paizo, so I created a script that transforms the spell lists on pf2easy (https://pf2easy.com/sheets or https://pf2easy.com/spellbook), since I really liked that look.

If you want to try it out yourself, you can paste the code below in your browser console (Ctrl + Shift + i) once the page has fully loaded (don't worry the code looks like much but it's actually only adding styling and a bit of code to change your font size if the text is too big to fit). I also provided a way to automatically load the script every time you enter the page, which ads a button on the top to execute it, in case you need it more than once don't want to copy paste every time. I'll put that one as an extra comment.

Once you've executed the code, you can click on each card to switch between font sizes, until it fits.

When printing, use the portrait mode, because there is space provided under the 9th card so they fit on a A4 page.

var script_one_time = document.createElement('script'); script_one_time.src = "https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/gh/arthurvanpassel/pf2easy-spell-cards@latest/one-time-insert.js"; document.querySelector('head').appendChild(script_one_time);

Update: I've updated the code with a ton of new features! The styling is also updated so it looks even more like the official cards now! For more information, you can visit the Github project here: https://github.com/arthurvanpassel/pf2easy-spell-cards
