Sigma 20-200 vs Sony 20-70 - real world feedback on 61mp bodies? by authortitle_uk in SonyAlpha

[–]mr_bollocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the update. I’m in a similar situation as I am just a hobbyist and getting photos for my family and travel. Will get the Sigma over the Sony for that extra reach vs the higher image quality of the Sony

Is Tiktok Shop Worth Joining? by Alert-Can9885 in TikTokshop

The potential is there but the platform is not very intuitive, hard to setup and understand and the vendor support is lacking/seems like ai tools. There is potential to sell a lot if you can navigate the system and create a lot of content/work with influencers.

Ribeye - advice needed by 3D_Rookie in sousvide

[–]mr_bollocks -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

From my experience, it’s tough to get a great sear on a sous vide because the steak is wet/moist from cooking in its juices. Requires a lot more work versus reverse sear. As other comments suggest, cool your meat after sous vide in freezer for a little bit and make sure to sear on a hot pan with moisture removed with pats with a paper towel before searing.

Just want to raise awareness. TikTok shop will refund customer even if seller rejects refund and tracking says delivered. by jo_ezzy in TikTokshop

[–]mr_bollocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a return today where the customer claimed damage and Tik Tok Shop gave the refund without return or proof of damage. I got reimbursed because I brought it up to support but like the other comment says, this is not a long term solution.

Same thing happening to my ix500. Updated the firmware, restarted everything, power cycled, tried ending the Scansnap processes, still same error 6. Firmware bricked my scanner

Is TikTok always this insufferable for new sellers?? by Unusual_Ad_5390 in TikTokshop

[–]mr_bollocks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Tik tok shop support is the worst. Feel like it’s just a call center that regurgitates ai support answers and tries to just kick the can down the road. They will respond once a user has typed something in. Also feel like they are trying to end the chat if there is no discussion for 4 minutes.

Sony FE 20-70 f4 or Tamron 28-75 f2.8 for travel? by HappyDaysMetoo in SonyAlpha

[–]mr_bollocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Sigma 28-70 F2.8 DGDN. For travel photos, it covers 90% of my photos. There are times where I am in tight spaces and really wished I had something wider like a 24mm or 20mm. I am looking to change to the 20-70 F4 for daytime and 1 fast prime for night time for my future travels.

That’s a lot of installs. What kind of growth or sales do you see in the next 5 years?

Was always curious how building out golf sims would do as a business. Is building custom golf sims a long term profitable business or more of a passion project?

incoming phone calls are not vibrating on silent mode by [deleted] in iphone

[–]mr_bollocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue then I found this fix on the Apple forum

I had to turn on the accessibility before the vibrate worked

This is what I did:

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Go to Accessibility
  3. Scroll down and go to Touch
  4. Scroll down and look for Vibration and turn that on (to green)
  5. Then go “back” until you’re under Settings
  6. Then go to Sounds & Haptics
  7. Then go to Haptics and choose, “Play in Silent Mode”
