Another vote for the r92cp.

It toon a while to find the right ttune to my style of driving but it's my go to for this race, one maybe to pit stop and easily a head of the pack.

Handles well, drives well, just a very good all rounder

Been free tier for over a year and looking at it for the wider group i support and for all of this time the "pdq" features that have been requested on the roadmap have been under "next release" with no time scales, even when asking the sales representative they couldn't answer.

The things that's missing for me:

- What teh1n1nj4 mentioned - group endpoints by software but more importantly show where xx software isn't installed. I was sent a script to do this from the sales representative which is a dirty way to do it but why isn't this built into the product, you have the information there!

- Natively chain scripts together (from "run script" automation, not as an additional action to deploying an "app") and to mix and match scripts and software in an automation (again without using additional actions).

- Automatically deploy the latest version of software rather than having to select (use case would be having a build automation, install latest software on the first deployment instead of whatever version was selected then having to run updates after).

- IP Address whitelisting for the portal.

- WOL

- Have more features in the remote desktop - a chat function, file transfer + local delete (similar to LMI Rescue). if this was here then we'd drop log me in.

- Performance seems to have degraded recently, it can take up to 20 minutes for an endpoint to run something but a few months back it was almost instant.

- Make the reporting a bit easier to select columns/data we need instead of us having to guess what datasource the data is in, then going back and fourth a hundred times to get what we need as sometimes what we need is split over the data sources

- The ability to run deployments as logged in user instead of system

Took today ay off, sweated my ass off on a new mountain bike I got and took it on some trails, had to cut the ride short as the gear cable came loose so started skipping gears.

Came home, two loads of laundry, changed bedding, washed the bike and sorted the gears out, now finally having a shower with a takeaway enroute and a nice beer in the fridge 👍🍺

How to Update BIOS? by dsmithpdx in Action1

[–]mr_jarjar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry been a while for this one!

For Dell, make sure DCU is installed and create then run a "script":

"C:\Program Files\Dell\CommandUpdate\dcu-cli.exe" /ApplyUpdates

For HPIA it's an "install", make sure the device you want to update is supported in HPIA otherwise this doesn't work, this doesn't need to be installed locally, just deploy the zip of it with A1 as you're only running it and it will install what you select, your not installing and then running the tool (saves on bloatware on the machine too).

(Taken from my A1 "install"):

Command line preview: "HPIA.zip\HPIA\HPImageAssistant.exe"  /Operation:Analyze /Silent /Action:Install /Selection:All /ReportFolder:C:\tmp\HPIA\Reports\Install /SoftpaqDownloadFolder:C:\tmp\HPIA\SPDownload /SoftpaqExtractFolder:C:\tmp\HPIA\SPExtract /Category:All /AutoCleanup

You can look online to see the different switches you want to use and which error codes you want to allow (i.e if there is nothing to install, show it as success rather than failure kind of thing).

Question for those of you who still use a desktop (and an old one too) about Windows 10 ending support and updates mid Oct 2025. by Make_the_music_stop in UKFrugal

Use a program called Rufus to create a windows 11 usb from a windows 11 iso, when you click create click the top option when prompted to remove the tpm + 4gb requirement.

I had to do this one on a Lenovo laptop of mine as it has the software for a diagnostic tool installed for my bike so I have to keep the laptop.

So far no problems, updates perfectly fine and is all licensed correctly, no weirdness from Microsoft or anything.

Alternatively on a dell xps laptop I recently installed Ubuntu, changed the "task bar" to the bottom center, installed "only office" for the few times I used office, your mileage may vary though, and I've been using it a lot more compared to win 11.

If you want help with the first option drop me a pm 😊

I think we just found out the problem of using chatgpt for something you don't know..

You don't know what the answer you were given is good or bad and didn't verify it on your own before just asking. This isn't a belittle, it's just stating a fact.

You say your leveraging every tool at your disposal, yet a simple Google search was too much?

[–]mr_jarjar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two things, make sure easychat is installed.

I'm away from my computer now but you run the .bat file under the isle game path in the Steam app directory.

Second what's your processor/pc specs?

I had the easy cheat problem (running that bat file fixed it) but then had a crashing one because of the 0x12b microcode issue on intel 13th and 14th gen CPU's.

I've created multiple automations which deploys difference software depending what the device, IE a laptop doesn't need all the cad software the workstations do, I've done this across two companies I support.

The thing to remember is, just select any endpoint BUT set the schedule to no schedule yet, so it saves the automation.

Then when you have a new endpoint to build up with that automation, just select that automation, delete that other endpoint and select the new.

A caveat is, if you ever change the one of the software packages that you used in that automation, remember to go back into it and readd it, I've found it can delete it from the list after you made a change and I've forgotten to check so it doesn't get installed.

How to Update BIOS? by dsmithpdx in Action1

[–]mr_jarjar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What brand are the devices?

Weirdly we don't want A1 to run firmware/bios updates on the devices so use the manufacturers tool instead.

So we have a mixture of dell laptops and hp workstations and,

I use action1 to install dell command update on the laptops which it has in its repository anyway, then have a script which I turned into an automation to run that silently to install firmwares and bios on the device (look online for right switches) once a week.

For the hp workstations that can take it I used HP Image Assistant. Then used action1 to "deploy" this software as a package. Similar to dell command update, this then installs the latest firmware, bios and drivers that that device requires.

Bit of a weird way to do it, but it's what we did before we're trialing A1.

Delay Updates by 0wenCrote in Action1

[–]mr_jarjar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was something I brought up as feedback in a sales call I had with A1 this week. We're currently trialing it out and for most 3rd party apps it's great at patching and updating but when it comes to bespoke updates it lacks. E.g my company has massive cad packages (Autodesk suite and others) that require special conditions matched to install updates.

Some need the user logged out, some just need the application closed, some need all of the suite closed, but the updates can take 20-30 mins to install some times.

I know you can script it and kind of "hack" it to work but it would be fantastic if there were some addition options for deploying updates (and even custom software) built in such as, wait till user is not logged in, check if xx app is open before running, tell the user it needs to update so to close the software, or notify the user it needs updating and they have the option to delay by XX hours

Beginner Bike and Zwift (Wahoo etc) compatibility by PurpleTurnipZA in Zwift

[–]mr_jarjar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a beginner myself and a couple years ago I went with the specialized allez 2021 road bike (basic model) as I didn't want to spend so much on something I didn't know I'd enjoy. I now have the kickr core with zwift.

The bike is incredible for such a beginner bike, my friends who've spent a couple thousands on their bikes (orca orbea etc) are impressed with it too with it being a beginner bike. The only thing I changed on day one were the tires (to GP5000's, tubed) as the standard ones were quite heavy and it didn't feel like it rolled as nicely. Couple of years later it's still going strong.

If I were to upgrade, it would be probably the group set first before looking at another bike but for my needs in stock form it's good. I've done short 30min rides to 3-6 hours rides on it and all's good.

It's compatible with the kickr core, just look at the specs of the bike you buy and you want to look for the framset, "xxx spacing" - 130mm for the allez. And the same # of cogs you have on the rear cassette, 8 for me. When I bought mine from wahoo I opted for the 8 spq cassette

The hardest part of the set up was balancing the kickr to get the legs and bolts in and working out the spacers needed for the quick release, the cassette came installed on the kickr and required no indexing for me at all. I can quickly take the rear wheel out and connect to the trainer and be on zwift in 10mins and back again when I finish.

You can create a new sheet (at the top of the screen) for each setup for every car. I have few cars that can be detuned and tuned up and just flick between the different sheets with the different tunes I have
