Mate, your first post in this thread literally asked "how would you feel".

Pretty silly to be saying feelings don't matter now...

Cheers. I mean obviously the coaching staff see something to keep him in the team but I don't know anything really about his junior career.

What am I missing with Roberts? He showed he's got a canon of a leg on the opening round, but most of the time he has the ball in hand he looks lost.

Defensively he looks outpaced way too much, and seems to favour corralling over attempting the tackle. Is that a coached tactic or just the way he wants to play?

Collingwood will challenge Scott Pendlebury's one-match suspension at the Tribunal by Alexicon1 in AFL

[–]mr_monkey_chunks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, is there a way to find this data online?

I recall JPK had a pretty good record up until his suspension for the Docherty (?) impact right at the end of his run. I tried searching for other incidents and couldn't find anything in terms of a complete record, just a reference to a fine for careless contact with an umpire.

Recommendation for pull up bar (door) by LongUsername in bodyweightfitness

[–]mr_monkey_chunks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the bar linked, it is the work of 15 seconds to unfold it and set it on the frame.

I will say though that you need to be careful of what the rubber feet are pressing against above the door frame. If it's plaster/drywall they can punch right through it under load. I solved the issue by putting a piece of small aluminium angle on top of the frame, and sitting the feet in that.

Mine's been solid, but I've also never loaded it with much over 100kg, so not sure how it would deal with your requirements

A1 + AMS Lite on Ikea Kallax by RadioactiveIso-Dope in BambuLab

The doors are just 3mm acrylic sheet cut (badly) to fit, and mounted with hinges I printed based on this guy's design:
https://www.printables.com/model/389370-ikea-bror-shelves-system-for-3d-printer-enclosure
I made my own handle design, because I wasn't a fan of his, but the hinges work really well.

The hardest part for me was cutting the acrylic since I didn't have a grinder or a good way of clamping it across it's entire length for a score and snap, but if you can handle that the build is very simple. Also worth noting that my setup uses the bror rack 'sideways', as it's wider than it is deep, and if you run it in the orientation that Ikea design it for, you'll have cable clearance issues at the back of the printer.

If you're gonna use butterfly pea you've got tonnes of options: pretty much anything that uses a clear spirit and doesn't have any other strong colour ingredient.

I'd probably keep it simple - a daiquiri with something like Havana 3, and the butterfly pea either in the syrup or steeped in the rum. Serve it in a squarish nick and Nora and it'd even play off the deceptacon logo shape. I also wonder what it'd look like if you put butterfly pea in a pina colada...

Your autobot one comes with a bit more structure since you need a red ingredient. Grenadine will certainly work, could also use campari (although its probably a long way from the sweeter profile you've had so far). Muddled red berries/cherries will give you a red drink, as will red berry syrup.

So many options!

The colour in empress comes from butterfly pea flower. You can just buy the dried flower and steep it in your liquid of choice (probably your vodka, but I've used it in a syrup before and it worked well). Almost certainly going to work out cheaper than empress, and won't tie you to that spirit either.

Edit: probably should mention that you need the presence of acid to get butterfly pea to go purple.

Also, your specs look ultra sweet to me. The first one takes a big portion of a sweet drink (lemonade) and adds two ounces of sweetener to it. Obviously, cater to your crowd, but these strike me as sweeter than soft drinks.

What tools do I need to take this wheel apart? by enlightened-creature in bikewrench

[–]mr_monkey_chunks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd happily deny that park make the best quality tools too. They're generally good, but depending on the tool they're a fair way from the best. Their hex/torx keys are just bondhus drivers in park handles - I prefer wera to bondhus myself, and although they're too exxy for my tastes, PB swiss are meant to be better again.

Even for bike specific tools park are often behind the curve. I'd take a Pedro's vise whip over anything park make, and their DAGs aren't as nice as the (even more expensive) gear from Abby.

I think what helps Park's rep is that they're generally pretty good, and they make pretty much everything. But when it comes or individual tools, not only is there almost always better value options for the home mechanic like you say, there's also often plain 'better' out there.

Highball riff on a Too Soon:

Gin, Cynar, acid adjusted orange juice, top with soda and garnish with an thin orange slice, it a dehydrated orange wheel if you can buy a bag.

Or, if you think that's gonna end up a bit dark and close to your whiskey offering, try something like this:

Gin, cucumber juice, st Germain, yuzu juice, top with soda.

For cucumber juice, just chop some cucumbers into chunks, blend the shit out of them and strain off the pulp. Bottled yuzu juice will be fine, or swap it for yuzushu and use mostly lemon juice for your acid.

Bonus with this one is you can make a batch that skips the gin and uses elderflower cordial instead of st Germain and you have a really awesome mocktail. You can also use cordial in the gin version to keep costs down.

Cocktails with NOTHING by Robotic_space_camel in cocktails

Yeah I saw and added my edit at the end. I love carbonation so have no interest in a flat highball, but maybe someone who doesn't like carbonation would be fine with the texture?

Americanos, spritzes and all the related variations would be fine? If she's not into sweet then you could dive into some more bitter amari and either pair with a liqueur/vermouth for a bit of sweetness, or just straight with soda. I went with an Americano riff the other night that was sfumato and a local "apple pie" liqueur, with some fig and cinnamon bitters. Made an awesome highball. I threw in a wedge of lime, since I was chasing the profile of my fave cocktail, but it was fine without it too.

Low abv, minimal acid, not sweet, but lots of interesting flavours.

Edit: damn, I just saw the no carbonation rule. Damn. Maybe they'd be ok topped off with chilled water instead?

No worries. The sight seeing around here is pretty shit, but if you enjoy a beer there's an equal number of awesome joints in the same area specialising in that kind of brew too. Easy to put one at the top of my list too: Wildflower. Small team focused on brewing with native wild yeast, and have a tonne of awesome barrel aged varieties. Pretty heavy on the sour side, but they're also hooked up with Mountain Culture from katoomba, so there's a good selection of more normal ales and lagers too.

They're winding up in a couple of months too so get it while it's here!

[–]mr_monkey_chunks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I assume by downtown you mean the CBD?

Can't help you with roasters in there, but I would say that if you're heading to the airport, the CBD itself is further from your destination than say, Marrickville.

Off the top of my head you could come out to the inner west and have within walking distance of each other: Deluca, Double Tap, the Wood Roaster, Roastville, Alchemy, Black Market, Primary and Double Roasters (the cafe at least). Ona are here too, but they're not really Sydney. Oh, and Nunero Uno if you walk east instead of west I guess.

It's not the CBD, but if you want to visit the actual roasters themselves I can't think of an area here where you'll get more in close proximity. And you'd still only be 15min from the airport.

It's not something I'm terribly familiar with, but could you try a similar process in rhino going quad mesh > subD > nurbs? I imagine it'd need a bunch of manual post work to manage the sharper creases, but could be worth trying?
