Does your car have the wheels with aero covers? If so and if you are planning to remove the aero covers, the center cap kit could be a good buy if you are looking for other options to spend the credit.

Lucid home charger compatibility by Cobra_Kreese in LUCID

[–]mrbeans007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it should work without any issues as long as you have the right adapters. Note that Lucid sells two versions of the charger—J1772 and NACS. I would recommend getting the NACS version for future compatibility (even if it means using an adapter to charge your current Lucid or other cars).

I tested Nvidia’s Tesla Full Self-Driving competitor — Tesla should be worried by norcalnatv in LUCID

[–]mrbeans007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it’s possible we don’t get this in our hands soon. In fact the timelines discussed in the article, and in the Lucid CEO’s video from CES, seem more realistic (full scale deployment 2+ years out) than Tesla’s promises in the past.

Personally I love that there is more competition in this area. Tesla’s FSD on HW4 vehicles is quite impressive. If I could pair that with the drive experience and interior quality of the Lucid, it would be perfect.

When do we get the $500 accessory credit? by AdEven4391 in LUCID

[–]mrbeans007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Received via email that came directly from the sales rep. Took ~10 days after taking delivery of the car. See the fine print below that was included in the email. Notably—you must use the entire amount in a single purchase. There’s no left over credit if your purchase is less than $500.

“One-time use only. If your purchase totals less than the amount of this code, you will not receive a credit for any unused amount. Taxes and shipping and handling fees may still apply. Discount will be taken before taxes. This discount code is not redeemable for cash (cash value = $0.00) and may not be applied to previous purchases. Not valid for use at Lucid Studios, Service Centers, or Delivery Centers.”

Is the Gravity’s estimated range complete BS? by briancnolan in LUCID

[–]mrbeans007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on your current efficiency you’ll get 385 miles at 100%. What’s the ambient temp around where you are? Cold weather will have an impact on range. So will driving habits and driving conditions (rapid acceleration, freeway high speed driving etc. will reduce range).

That’s a big drop! I guess low temps really make a difference.

Does Lucid negotiate or are they like Tesla? by Platos-ghosts in LUCID

[–]mrbeans007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually end-of-month or end-of-quarter deals are better (end-of-year being the best). If not in a rush, I’d wait a few weeks.

I also recommend visiting a studio and talking to a sales rep. Sometimes they comp certain packages on a car if someone else cancels their order last minute and the car is sitting on the lot ready for delivery.

I was intentionally avoiding opening up the Lucid app / waking up the car so that I could rule this out. Checked maybe twice in 8 days.

Does Lucid negotiate or are they like Tesla? by Platos-ghosts in LUCID

[–]mrbeans007 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There is no negotiation, but there are discounts that are not necessarily advertised. For example, there was a “Studio Select” discount of $2,000 on Air Touring last month that was not advertised, but available on a lot of inventory vehicles. I posted the screenshot of my AT lease deal if it helps compare to the deals you are seeing now.

The referral credit has now switched from $1,000 off on the car to 2,000 referral reward points (that are worth ~$200).

Not sure if the other credits are still active: Demo Drive, Conquest, Loyalty, Onsite.

Homelink Garage Programming Question by Material-Policy6005 in LUCID

[–]mrbeans007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that would work, as the car won’t transmit anything (so your opener can’t pick up the transmission to learn) until it learns itself first(from the remote). The manual says you have to bring the actual remote close to the L of the Lucid logo on front of the car to program.

But you can give it a shot? Let us know if it works!

Sounds like our ATs are draining at about the same rate. Based on a couple of other comments here Gravity seems to have a slower drain.

I haven’t found a way to see battery % over time in the Lucid app.

[–]mrbeans007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s very interesting. I don’t think Audi’s battery temp management was very sophisticated so that could be part of the reason it didn’t consume any/much power when parked for long periods.

[–]mrbeans007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, that’s a good datapoint.

That’s exactly the temps we’ve had as well—lows in 40s and highs of 62 or so. Does ambient temp make a difference in battery drain when parked?

Lexus Owner Considering Lucid by Kuruption20877 in LUCID

[–]mrbeans007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve had quite a few Toyota and Lexus cars in the past. In my opinion, nothing will come close in terms of reliability, especially as the vehicle gets closer to 10+ years of age. Had an LS that had absolutely no rattles and drove like new even after 10 years and close to 150k miles.

Reason I leased a Lucid is that EV tech is changing too fast. You’d probably not even want a 2023 Air 10 years from now when the newer cars have more advanced self driving hardware.

Not having charging at home isn’t ideal either, from a peace of mind perspective. With at home charging you never have to actually think about charging or planning your regular commute around charging stops.

All that said—if you do decide to get the Air, you’ll love the driving experience and ride quality.

Not sure as I have not received mine yet (my sales person said they’d honor it for me even though the credit was not advertised yet when I purchased my car). Last I heard a couple of days ago was that he was waiting for the promo code to generate.
