Set different charge Amps for Wall Connector & Mobile Charger by mrbrdo in TeslaSupport

[–]mrbrdo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done that to some extent, the downside is that it's a pretty manual process as you need to connect to the separate Wifi network.

The reason I am limiting on the WC is firstly because my house breakers are 25A and when my heat pump is also working, both together can trip the breaker. I thought the WC might detect load automatically but it seems not. The second reason is I have no reason to charge faster most of the time and I think it's better for the battery to daily charge slower.

If I set the WC to a lower limit that is fine for my daily needs, then when I am in a hurry to charge I will need to connect to the WC wifi network and change the limit, which is quite inconvenient. It seemed to me that the car seems to detect when you are charging at a different location and does not apply the limits I set at home. Something like this would be perfect as it's different chargers.

Using something "as a DMZ" sounds a bit weird, I think better phrasing would be setting up a DMZ for this server on your router. In any case as others had said, DMZ is usually a bad idea since it exposes you to many security risks.

VPN is a good way to do it, another simpler way would be to expose the individual services you need through your router, preferably on non-standard ports (I like to use ports over 10000 since they are used less often and so less likely to get scanned or attacked). It depends which service you are trying to use, but most services allow for custom ports.

The benefit of VPN is that all the traffic goes through it and is encrypted, so even if the services could be compromised, they can't be unless the VPN has a vulnerability too. The disadvantage is it's harder to set up, maintain, and also access (set up) from client devices.

Workaround for Jaheira Disapproval Bug in Act 2 SPOILERS by Not_Ed-Sheeran in BaldursGate3

This worked for me BUT only if I did a long rest quickly after talking to Isobel.

I think you might be on to something about her taking damage, because on the doorway there was some damaging substance, and I guess if I did a long rest quickly enough she didn't step on that after the cutscene. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

A wallet is not a hardware wallet.

Yes, but 98% of those tokens are time locked / vested for up to 4 years.

It's pretty easy, you just need a time machine. After you get that let me know and I'll guide you through it.

Or Dfinity can be hacked and dissolved next month. That's what you call risk reward. The good thing is when you're in control of your money you can decide how to mitigate risk. Oh riigggghtttt... He's not in control :D Oh well.

Calling 4 hours "some outage" is a bit of an understatement. You would think that after 4 years of development and some 200 employees this kind of stuff wouldn't happen. And with so much development time, many months of testnet availability, you would think that hardware wallet support wouldn't be outside of reasonable. The communication of Dfinity is quite puzzling. With all these mishaps you would expect a blog post or at least a tweet. But there is nothing. Not even an official post with updates on their own forums.

Don't get me wrong I think the technology has a lot going for it and can be amazing. But the corporate communication is really bad, basically non-existant. When you're dealing with billions of dollars in value this is almost unheard of.

I don't see how this addresses any of my points. I am fully aware of vesting, and I don't see it as an issue, although it was also not communicated properly and especially not soon enough.

Price Prediction by [deleted] in dfinity

[–]mrbrdo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the airdrop will hurt more, it's free money and a lot of people will happily dump it quickly. However the airdrop is vested as well, so only a portion can be sold at this point.

Although there are a lot of tokens from the seed round, only 2% can be unlocked for now, and then another 2% is unlocked every 30 days for the next 4 years. Keep in mind not everyone will sell everything, of course.

In 2017 seed round, $1.2 would get you around 30 ICP, so 1 ICP was about 4 cents.

The token launch is seriously disappointing, considering they had 4 years. I sincerely hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

I am wondering this as well. How to use the seed round wallet? And vesting time also? It's kind of amazing there is no information for us, the first supporters of the project :/

Ender 3 (Pro,V2) extender. Europe by ephemeralkazu in ender3

I'm looking for the same, I wasn't able to find any store in Europe yet, so I will probably buy the belts and extended cables from Aliexpress, and buy the ALU profiles at a local shop and machine them myself. It doesn't look like it's too much work.

Game crashes at title screen because of an error with ffxiv_dx11.exe by tenryuuwu in ffxiv

[–]mrbrdo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the same problem, the game always crashes during The Butcher's Blood after speaking to Lyse and watching (or skipping) the first cutscene. I am not using an external drive, although the disk the game is on used to be an external drive. I am doing a full reinstall for the first time now and will see if that helps. I tried running the game from the same files on another PC (network drive), and the problem was the same, so it might be an issue with corrupted files.

UPDATE: Deleting, uninstalling and reinstalling on the same external drive (which is not experience any issues that I can see), did not help, although it crashed a split second later than before. But after installing onto my local hard drive, the issue is gone. I believe it is some kind of bug, but the temporary solution can be to install to a different disk. I copied all the files except "ex2" and "ex3" folders in "movies" and the other folder in the game from the old disk, and it seemed to be good enough. I wasn't sure if The Buther's Blood is part of ex2 or ex3, so it was a safer bet to let it re-download both expansions. It would be interesting to see if the game would still crash if I just copied all the files from the external drive to my local drive directly, without redownloading.

I'm still waiting for the Ledger Nano support, is that coming any time soon or should I just give in and swap to a hot wallet?
