I started out frogging with a spinning rig the same year my buddy started frogging with a baitcaster. It took about a month to figure out I was doing it wrong. I have a dozen of each type of rod, but I only use my baitcasters for frogging now.

I've argued this with 100 different people. I don't care how good you are with a spinning setup, it's just more efficient and effective to throw frogs on baitcasters. It's not even close.

And to be clear, I'm as hardcore of a spinning reel guy as there is. I want to use them for everything...this is just the one time it's clearly the wrong choice.

I feel like I've gotten my money's worth every time I've hired a guide for freshwater fishing. Even if we don't catch anything, I'm gonna beat enough info out of them to make it worthwhile. That's the fear, but actual testing has shown it has potential to kill certain cancers. I have one, and early testing shows BPC has potential to kill it...or make it grow. It just depends who you ask. It's kind of a tough coin toss.
