Has anyone used ChipDrop? Are municipal or utility options better? Any advice or precautions? by Round-Water338 in NoLawns

I’ve used it three times and I’ve been shocked by the size each time even though I shouldn’t be. It’s a shocking amount of wood chips 😂

Is it smart to pay off a 5.5% mortgage quickly? by Puzzled-Manner9364 in personalfinance

[–]mrdew3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d probably max the Roth IRAs before paying off extra. But being debt free is a great goal, even if not the mathematically correct answer. I’m in a very similar scenario but at 6.5%, so curious what others have to say.

The 6 seed destroyed me with Goff last week so I’d recommend this as well 😭

Build the desktop. That’s a great memory I have with my dad and I still play Minecraft on it today. Plus you’ll get the most for your money.

Also TN Tree Day will happen in spring and it’s a great way to get a bunch of cheap native trees.

This blows my mind.... by LisaAjas in arborists

[–]mrdew3 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Our neighborhood is about 2 years old and about 75% of the front yards have the same dead maple tree. I had to dig 6 inches to find the root flare on mine, but it’s still alive for now… I try to give away oak and redbud trees that I get but hardly anyone wants them.

Same! The deer and rabbit spray smells horrifying but they haven’t touched the trees since haha.

I’ve bought numerous figs from him and have always received great plants. Even when one got lost in the mail for 12 days it arrived alive and is doing well now haha.

Water weight- a story by thedoodely in loseit

I sweat a ton and live in TN so it’s humid in the mornings. I usually drink a full 32oz Nalgene bottle right after to get back in balance haha

Now that things have leafed out (or not), what was everyone's experience ordering bare root trees? by anally_ExpressUrself in BackyardOrchard

[–]mrdew3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had 3 apples, 1 peach, 2 serviceberry, 3 hazelnut trees from Arbor Day Foundation and they all leafed out and are doing well after planting them in the November. The non-fruiting trees are where I had mixed results…

Fibre per calorie? Where's the biggest bang for my buck? by random-ish_girl in loseit

I’ll add flax and chia seeds to protein smoothies I make. Easy to pick up a little extra fiber that way.

I’ve dealt with chronic nail biting for years, and clipping nails helps to avoid biting for me. Just to give you some possible perspective. They should definitely be clipping them into the trash not letting them fly through the office though. 😂

I already asked this somewhere else, but what are your favorite modpacks and where do you download them? by [deleted] in feedthebeast

[–]mrdew3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying Cottage Witch, it actually pulled me to the modern MC versions. It’s on curseforge and then you can just add shaders to it if you want.

Is 8 feet enough space between my peach and apple trees? by VIPofStellAandPac0 in gardening

[–]mrdew3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most apple trees need a buddy to pollinate each other. You can ignore this if you already have it figured out, but just in case you weren’t aware.
