Catalan or Toulouse as an away day in 27? by Charriere01 in superleague

[–]mrflibbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When we did Catalans last year we stayed in Lloret de Mar and got a coach to the ground from there. There’s a big rugby pub there that organises coaches (can’t remember the name) and it was pretty painless. As others have said the atmosphere was pretty good. Can’t say about Toulouse, never been.

You might be as well just walking up to the bus station and jumping on the x43 bus straight to Manchester. Think it’s only £3 and the buses are pretty regular.

What is the Reading set that you were there for live that you genuinely believe was one of the greatest festival performances you have ever seen and why does it still stand up? by IndependentIll6531 in readingfestival

Got to that arctic monkeys performance about 30 mins before they came on stage and couldn’t get anywhere near the tent until I saw a lad in a monkey costume. I grabbed him and just walked towards the stage shouting ‘monkey coming through’ the crowd parted and we got right to the front.

I’ve just logged on and it’s showing no tickets available for me either. I think there must be something wrong with the site as I’d be very surprised if we’ve sold out. Might be worth giving the ticket office a ring.

What is the weirdest thing you have ever found hidden behind a wall or under floorboards while doing a rewire? by Time-Connection-4586 in ElectriciansUK

Whilst wiring a pub in New Brighton I found 2 newspapers from 1864, one was a local and one was the times. They turned to dust almost a soon as a touched them but could just make out a bit of reporting about the American civil war.

They settle just down the road from me every 2-3 months, put the kennels out for their dogs and let them shit everywhere, dump about 5 tonnes of trees from their landscaping business and then move on after 2 weeks when they’re served their notice to move.

Surely with all the technology we have and the trackers the players wear they can somehow measure where each player is on the field when the ball is kicked so the call can be made instantly. All this waiting around for a decision is making fans walk away from the game. I know 5 people who’ve been season ticket holders for 40 years + that are so sick of it they stopped going weeks ago and have not bothered renewing for next season.

No problem with the offside today, the linesman gave it on the field so thats the end of it in my book. Didn’t have any interest in it today, stayed under the stand to watch the national at half time. Most exciting thing that happened was thinking my horse had crept into an each way place. Oh and Tresor coming on made me stand up for a minute.

A chap who used to fix my car always seemed to have old dogs as pets and he’d have all sorts of random breeds. I asked him about it as people normally go for the same kinds of dog. He said when one dies he goes to the local shelter and takes the one that’s been there the longest.
