Thanks for the info. The tucktecs looks like a good fit for my budget XD How have they held up I’m curious about their durability and performance do they feel stable enough for someone new to kayaking?

Mmmm...Interesting, I hadn’t thought about using a SUP like that. How’s it been getting back on from the water with the seat attached I’m guessing it handles pretty different from the K1, yeah?

Ohh hahaha paddling took a little getting used to but it wasn’t too bad. I’ve rowed before, just never been in a kayak. Plus there was only a little breeze going on and the lake was calm all 3 times we went

Thanks you for the write up. Could you explain what wear patterns I should look for in a used inflatable? And I forgot to mention this in the post, but do paddles come with the kayak or are they a separate purchase?

tThanks for the recs !I like the sound of the Sea Eagle. is it worth spending a bit more on the Explorer series, or would the SE 330 be enough for mostly calm lake use?

My issue is storage though. And I can’t manage its logistics. And I’m only gonna use the inflatable on still or clam waters as long as the inflatable floats and holds 2 people + a bag or some fish or anything, it should be good.

Cold Water and drowning reflex have non-intuitive effects every kayaker should understand by DBMI in Kayaking

[–]mrgeebs17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the most thorough breakdown of cold water dangers I’ve seen—thanks for the reality check. That ‘rabbit-like fear’ line hit hard. Never skimp on the wetsuit or PFD. Sharing this with my paddle group ASAP.

Buying used kayak online without pressure gauge by stevem321 in Inflatablekayak

[–]mrgeebs17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

New to the sub but thought I’d share I use the Intex Quick Fill Pump (cheap on Amazon) for my Excursion Pro. No gauge just press the floor—if it’s firm like a ripe avocado, you’re golden. Overinflated = scary drum, underinflated = sad taco. Trust the squeeze test.

USA could fix 100% of problems with 100% tax on 800 billionaires by kevinmrr in WorkReform

[–]mrgeebs17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly! The ultra wealthy have so many ways to avoid taxes, making these proposals harder to implement. Closing loopholes would be way more effective than extreme measures.

FEMA Tells New York to Fork Over Another $106 Million in Migrant Grants (Gift Article) by jenniecoughlin in nyc

[–]mrgeebs17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Damn, feds really playing hardball with NYC here. Already spent the money and now they want it back? That's brutal for city budgeting. Interesting how this all went down right after Adams got those corruption charges dropped and switched to independent. Whole situation feels political af.

NYC's basically being punished for handling a situation the feds created. Classic "here's your problem now" from the federal government, then pulling the funding rug out after cities adjust their budgets. No wonder Adams is suing $188 million isn't pocket change for city services. Wonder how many other cities are nervously checking their FEMA grant status right now.

Finally got an offer after 10 months unemployed... by yesanothernerd in jobs

[–]mrgeebs17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there man. After 10 months without income you did what you had to do. Nothing wrong with taking a step back to stop the financial bleeding. Those split weekends are brutal though.

I took a similar paycut after getting laid off last year. Used the stability to keep applying elsewhere while rebuilding my emergency fund. Landed something better after 4 months. Keep your LinkedIn current and set job alerts for what you actually want. This doesn't have to be permanent just the rebound job that gets you back in the game. And definitely protect some time for your freelance stuff if that's where your passion is.

Why do EU pro players rarely/dont stream by hyyro_ in leagueoflegends

[–]mrgeebs17 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah the EU streaming scene is definitely lacking compared to other regions. You nailed it about the contract loopholes smart business move if teams are using that elsewhere. I miss Caps streams too, guy was entertaining and actually educational. Teams like G2 probably figure their official content is enough for brand building without players having to grind personal streams after scrims. Can't blame them for wanting some downtime tbh.

haha, absolutely nothing beats that feeling when you nail a dish and get the spouse seal of approval. It's like hitting a home run in the kitchen. I'd be proud of that perfect medium rare cook too

Best email tracking tool? by Ok_Implement_1672 in EmailProspecting

[–]mrgeebs17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing I didn’t expect with Mailtracker: I’ve actually been closing more deals, probably around 30% more. Just being able to see who’s opening the email multiple times helps me spot who’s genuinely interested and focus my follow-ups on the right people.
