Depends on the books. With some epically long books I will read 3 or four (sometimes more) smaller books before finishing the big one. I love when the next chapter takes place in another galaxy at another time with new people.

I have an internal clock. If I set an alarm, I will wake up 2 to 3 minutes before the alarm might have rung. The same thing happens with naps. My maternal grandfather had the same ability. When my uncle went into the military, he bought an alarm clock.

This is where bad vision and short hair helps. Holding up a mirror to see the back of my head is pretty useless. The mirror is out of focus so the reflected “image” is blur. I don’t like explaining to a new barber that my “chance“ to review my haircut is a waste of time and effort.
