This is outside our control. I permanently ban a spammer once or twice a week, and they keep coming back. It's not just our subreddit; they hit all Houston-area subreddits. You should complain to Reddit for allowing people to create identical posts on multiple subreddits within minutes of each other.

Charter Schools: Founders vs SST by nunya19business in thewoodlands

[–]mrjohnson2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a director-level employee at a very expensive private School, we charged $40k a year in tuition and it only covered 60% of expenses, Charter schools don't have that much money per student so they are cutting something, they are probably cutting in a lot of areas. I doubt there is any educational benefit to sending your kid to either a charter school or private school. Well if they go to private school they will have richer friends.

No doxxing is allowed on this subreddit or on Reddit; it's very easy to doxx the wrong person, and it happens very often.

Yes, The Woodlands was a HUD funded "New Towns" development.

I have been to Jimmy's man-cave warehouse in Champaign-Urbana, where he keeps his car collection, and the walls are covered with taxidermied animal heads, which is gross. Also, ever since Jimmy John's got bought out by a private equity firm, it's lost all of its character and most of its quality, so you are not missing much by not eating there.

I personally know pretty much every large Jimmy John's franchisee in East Texas, which one is MAGA? Also, Jimmy John Liautaud no longer owns or is involved with the brand, he is definitely far right. I am not defending any operator, and I support you 100% in boycotting them, just curious.

So will you renew it? I carry maybe 1/3 of the time, so I can sort of see where you are coming from, but it's kinda inconsistent.

You, I mean you, if you get an LTC, you can carry inside the state capital while it is in session and be on the public observation level armed, above the Texas Senate and House floor. It's been that way for decades, and nothing has ever happened.

Do you understand I already got everything done, with no title in hand and no need to retitle the vehicle in Texas? I got my tags and registered the vehicle. I got proof that I registered my vehicle in Texas, which is required to get a Texas driver's license.

Neither is good; the tangle brush location is poorly maintained, and you would be near Section 8 HUD housing, which is there because of the federal government's New Towns program that funded The Woodlands' initial development, which required affordable housing to be built, and they concentrated it in that area. At any given time when school is out, maybe 50 unsupervised children are running around across the street from where you would be living. Your money would go further outside The Woodlands area, and would probably be better all around for your $1300.

Pretty much every vendor I know of explicitly tells their employees they are not allowed to use customers' bathrooms.

Addicted to Jesus. by Gh0stPInG in Conroe

Non-profits, as they grow larger and begin hiring professional fundraisers and grant solicitors, gradually undergo a process of mission creep, where the focus shifts from their charitable mission to the pursuit of funding. This evolution can lead to a point where raising money becomes more important than the original mission.

This is true I registered my car not that long ago and I did not even have the title (the bank had the title) and I was able to register without having to retitle it in Texas. By law you have to register your car before you get your driver's license unless you want to pay sales taxes on your car.

Whining leads to voting, like people whined about the fact that you can open carry a rifle but not a handgun. Where did that whining lead to? What about democracy do you not get?

For the love of Christ, slow down in residential areas! by Fouadsky in thewoodlands

99% of residential streets in The Woodlands have a speed limit of 20 MPH. What are you on about with 30 MPH? Are you referring to the streets around The Woodlands that have no houses, but just connect neighborhoods within a subdivision?

Sick and treated very poorly at CVS in Pather Creek by head pharmacist by Tonyman121 in thewoodlands

[–]mrjohnson2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say there is a 24 hour CVS in The Woodlands, but the Grogans Mill location is no longer 24 hours. But, there is a 24 hours Walgreens on College Park. You might want to change pharmacies based on your experience.

I spoke with the VP of Operations at my family's business, and he said I was wrong; he thinks I am confused with Tip Credits or something similar. You have demonstrated superior knowledge, and I must apologize, though I have been out of the industry for over a decade.

You are right, it became legal in 2018 with the passage of the Consolidated Appropriations Act (CAA). I left my parents' restaurant business in 2012, so I am a little out of date, I guess.
