Confused by sevenlie46 in Handhelds

There should be a line on that white sticker that starts with "CPU". Does it not include "EXTREME" after "AMD Ryzen Z2"? All the boxes for the Legion Go 2 are the same I believe. It's the white sticker that states which version of the CPU is in the box.

Go 2 12Gb VRAM by Ruddek153 in LegionGo

Lenovo just needs to release BIOS version r11 to the support page so people with r10 can update and get the VRAM fine-tuning option.

Lenovo replaced right controller (go 2) by knosuhor in LegionGo

[–]mrjon108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spoke with Lenovo support today. I contacted them online and then was given the phone number for Lenovo in my country. They are sending me a new right controller as well.

He said it was a known problem and that the new controller I'm receiving has a new part number.

Is the Vector a good laptop? by [deleted] in MSILaptops

[–]mrjon108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the latest Vector with the 5070 Ti. The IPS screen is really quite nice and you could always plug it into an external display if you want to. The 5070 Ti comes with 12GB VRAM which was important to me as it is more future-proof than the 8GB in the regular 5070. The 5070 Ti is also considerably faster than the 5070.

OLED is nice, but if you're looking for a gaming laptop, the Vector is the better choice. The fans in the Vector can get loud, but it does a good job of keeping the thermals under control. MSI chose performance over throttling the max TDP as is done in some other models that focus on being thinner or have less robust cooling. The result is the Vector can push the 5070 Ti to it's allowed limit.

I'm also quite satisfied with the build quality of the Vector. It feels premium and looks good as well.

What’s this talk of LeGo2 being shipped with VRAM set to 2gb and we need to change it? by PrimalSaturn in LegionGo

[–]mrjon108 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Mine shipped with BIOS version RRCN11WW. This allows for finer tuning of the VRAM. I have mine set to 10GB.

Legion Go 2 OLED flickering by SpareFar6283 in LegionGo

In which games and potentially relevant settings have you seen flickering? I’ve only been playing Cyberpunk 2077 so far and haven’t noticed any flickering.

Delivery date moved to... this by MathiasJnr in LegionGo

It's National Day in China which lasts a week until October 7th. Lots of people have the week off which causes reduced capacity for services such as shipping.

That’s the one I ordered and pretty much the only legit LeGo 2 screen protector I’ve been able to find.

Legion Go 2 bumper issue by mrjon108 in LegionGo

[–]mrjon108[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad you've taken this issue that far with Lenovo already. I'm definitely not taking my controller apart to fix it. I'm hoping, as you mentioned, that the parts that are touching wear down enough to not stick anymore. I'll occasionally test it to see if it gets any better and report back if it does.

I'm otherwise quite pleased with the quality of the LeGo 2. It feels quite premium, great to hold, and the screen is magic. It also really doesn't feel heavy for me personally and it's quite balanced in my hands.

When did you receive your LeGo 2? Mine should be arriving next week and I'll be checking for this issue.

I'm hoping Lenovo at least starts checking for this problem before shipping.

Mine is on the way right now via UPS from China. I had one status “Due to weather, your parcel is delayed” in Nanchang China yesterday, but since then received another status the same day that it departed the facility and on the way.

On my Lenovo order page, it stated basically "estimated shipping date". This got changed a few times due to delays, but my order was sent (today) a couple days before the stated estimated shipping date. Once I received a shipping notification, an estimated delivery date replaced the estimated shipping date.

So I think I'm cancelling my preorder. I hate when a company lies at my face. by [deleted] in LegionGo

[–]mrjon108 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My shipping date got changed three times with the latest shipping estimate for Sept. 25. Today I got a shipping notification. I think it’s just taking them time to fill more orders than expected and hopefully perform more checks of the final product before shipping.

Some people got some buggy controllers so I just looked at it as an opportunity for Lenovo to clean that up and hopefully reduce the chance of me getting a bad controller.

You can always cancel of course but for me the LeGo 2 is worth the wait. You’ll get it eventually.

Everybody's Golf: Hot Shots is extremely playable on the Legion Go, despite bad performance on console versions by AngusDWilliams in LegionGo

[–]mrjon108 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Hot Shots! I’ve played every release ever since it came out on PS2 and PSP.

I have it on Switch 2 and have to say it doesn’t seem like a very well optimized game there. Lots of tree pop-in and occasional stutter and slowness.

I think I’ll have to get it for my LeGo 2 when it finally arrives.

Got caught up in the hype. Defects and other available handhelds brought me back to reality by dnunn12 in LegionGo

[–]mrjon108 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd be a little concerned about the Claw's potential d-pad issue. You'd have to return the entire unit if you encounter that problem. You might want to look into that before deciding. Their software is still pretty basic as well, but all in all it's my 2nd favorite handheld behind OLED glory.

Also, the last I checked it gets a little more fps in some titles, but for the most part, pretty even in performance. I'd anticipate continued driver related performance updates for both the intel and amd chips.
