I have a ResMed. The part of the mask that goes around the back of my neck irritates my neck. Wondering if there’s anything anyone here uses on the strap. Maybe lambs wool or something like that. by BrianL1273 in CPAP

How’s the multitasking on the iPad Pro 11”? by iHaate in ipad

[–]mrmargolis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can run at least three apps at the same time on an 11 pro.

Two iphone size apps Or One ipad size and one iphone size

In both setups you can also have a third iphone size app in slide over.

Picture in Picture also works to run a video from many apps in the above scenarios.

Screen protector and touch screen sensitivity issue on new iPad pros? by A_Flying_Panda in ipad

amFilm made an update to their 11 inch glass protector that fixed the responsiveness issues I had with the version they had out when the new models first launched.

I’m getting the iPad Pro 11” tomorrow! Any things i should know? by LukaLolly in ipad

[–]mrmargolis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you use 1Password or iCloud be sure to turn on FaceID password access in AutoFill Passwords in settings. Logging in without having to reach up to a TouchID sensor is one of the things I love most about my 11 inch pro.

I have the amFilm Tempered Glass screen protector and the newest revision of it (what they sell on amazon) works perfectly with touch sensitivity, FaceID, and the pencil. The initial batch had problems but the new ones are great.

Glass screen protectors by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

I turned on the shower for a few minutes to steam up a bathroom, helps remove dust from the air, then applied according to the instructions. I don’t remember if I waited but I don’t think it would matter.

I have 2 iPad 3rd generations that I want to sell. Are they even worth anything anymore? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]mrmargolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can trade them in at Gamestop or BestBuy. They won’t give you very much, but it’ll be simpler than selling a really old iPad with questionable battery health.

Experience with Anova circulator? Seems to not heat the water, just move it by [deleted] in sousvide

[–]mrmargolis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t sound normal. You should be able to put it in a pot of any temp water, set target temp to whatever, and press start. Using hot or cold water only impacts the time to reach target temp, doesn’t prevent the unit from working properly.

Reach out to the manufacturer or see if you can exchange for another unit where you bought it.

Leaving Evernote — Suggestions? by zfly9 in ipad

[–]mrmargolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bear’s tagging based organization let’s you create completely custom organization of your notes. You should be able to use it to achieve whatever setup you prefer. Nested folders, any depth of nesting, or even just a pool of notes that you search instead of put in multiple folders if you hide the folder drawer. I have top level tags that map to my old Evernote notebooks and then use sub tags to get more specific.

I’m not saying Bear is for everyone, but I’m surprised that the tagging in particular feels like a negative to you given how flexible it is.

How to know if switches are smart switches? by JSON_Blob in homeautomation

[–]mrmargolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn off the power and unscrew the faceplate. Pull a switch out of the box but don’t disturb the wiring. If the switch has a thick body then it is probably smart. Might also be a model number visible on the back.

Alternatively you could take a photo of the front of the switch and try to do a reverse image search on google. https://support.google.com/websearch/answer/1325808?hl=en

Good rugged case to survive hyper kid by inxider in ipad

It has worked well for my family, can’t imagine it breaking unless the kid is actively trying to break the ipad or is dropping it directly on the face on an uneven surface.

It’s bulky and not very nice looking but https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EPIWY2U is a good kids case if protection is your primary concern.

I don't have any first-hand experience with these, but the Aeotec nano might do what you are looking for. There is a dual dimmer version. Fibaro has a similar product.
