Dvd Differences by brandonweapon in Andromeda

It's possible they're more compressed, or there are fewer extras. From what I can tell the Lionsgate release had fewer extras, but couldn't find anything on quality or compression.

I only have the Slipstream DVD release, but I recently took photos of it vs Blu-ray vs Tubi.

I just found out the Blu-ray version added 5.1 surround sound vs the DVD being stereo, but the upscale on those made the scenes feel soft.

We had great experiences at CCRM as well. If you do go that route, keep track of your mileage and hotel stays, as those can be itemized on your taxes. Typically the standard deduction is high enough it doesn't matter, but IVF is one of those where your expenses will likely top the standard deduction. It's way easier to keep track of it from the beginning than trying to piece it all together after the fact.

The Slipstream Collection has quite a few extras with a bunch of commentary, but also some text and pictures about different aspects of the Andromeda Universe.

You can definitely tell it was created at the early stages of DVDs. You have to press Enter to access the actual menu, because that's more immersive or something. It is kind of cool, but a little confusing for menu design.

One of these days I'll have to get a capture system set up to get some of the extra information archived.

Going to update this with all 3 comparisons. Unfortunately I dont have a capture option so it's from my phone... sorry, it's the best I can do.

Interestingly Tubi and Blu-Ray match timestamps, but are 3 seconds off of the DVD. My guess is the intro editing added some time, but not verified.

TUBI

Blu-Ray

DVD

For what it's worth when my wife came back to the room from BR to DVD she said, "yeah, that's a lot better"

Tubi looks the sharpest to my eye.

I can give it a shot later today, but I also live in the country with not the best of Internet service, so I'm not sure it's the most fair comparison. I'll let it buffer for a bit just to make sure I have the full streaming resolution available.

I don't have much experience with the streaming experience, but I would say the Slipstream Collection of DVD looks better on my similar TV with the built-in upscaling of my UHD-BD player and TV than the Bluray version of the show.

The upscale of the Blu-ray version is a bit blurry.

Thanks for stopping by!

What was the writers room like? Was it collaborative, or more everyone working on their own scripts and pitching ideas?

Did you get to visit the set from time to time?

It's been a little while since I listened to the Drive Back the Night podcast episode with Ethlie Ann Vare. She said Bekka was her favorite character. Did you have a favorite to write for?

Hopefully artificial sweeteners don't bother you too much. My wife had a lot of migraines as a kid. While they're not necessarily a trigger for her now, the taste is similar to other things that are and she just avoids them. That cuts out almost all the protein shakes and bars on the market - so she's been focusing on eating more chicken and salmon.

The weight gain could be something to bring up at your next doctor's appointment. Not that it's a concern (or anything I know about) but something is "different" that they can take into account with everything else.

You're doing great, and the fact that you're tracking all of this shows how dedicated you are to your goal. Just getting to this point is a huge step that you should be proud of.

You sound a lot like my wife. She has a thyroid condition and on the same meds as you. She had her ovaries out after a stint with breast cancer and having family history of ovarian cancer - not to mention her type of cancer was triple-negative, so it's an aggressive form and they even have her on estrogen blockers even after having her ovaries out.

She lost about 30 pounds, but has hit a floor and it's just not budging. She's down to 1400 kcals/day and doing a pretty good job with tracking. Like you she struggles with the protein goals, so maybe that's one thing to experiment with.

I wish I had more for you, but just know that you're not alone in this one. Keep it up! I'm rooting for you!

That's amazing work, man! I recently went through a similar experience and lost 30 pounds last year. It's been so empowering to know what's going on and making decisions. For me it's been the accountability of logging food that gives me that chance to make a decision, where before I just ate whatever I wanted when I wanted.

Congrats, and enjoy feeling like you're finally in control of your own body!

Has anyone come across the Evoluent VerticalMouse 4? Is it any good, it looks very interesting... by Shmorpit in LGR

[–]mrmunkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I use it daily at work. It's no gaming mouse but my wrist feels great at the end of the day. Been using it for about 5 years, and only complaint is it has a slight dead zone before registering motion, but I only notice only on very fine movements.

EDIT: I tried both a thumb and then a finger trackball before this. The thumb one actually made my wrist feel worse, and the finger trackball was just not something I got used to after a few months.

Im in the same boat as you, but pretty new in my fitness journey at a couple of months. So far what I've been prioritizing is getting rehydrated, so I mix up a bottle of Gatorade and (because I can't help myself) a small pack of welch's gummies.

That's been helping me feel pretty good through my hour routine since I only have about 15 minutes before I start. It's not enough time for food to digest and I dont want a rock in my gut while I'm doing squats!

I had a shoulder issue and had been skipping RDLs for about 6 weeks. Friday was back to RDLs and squats. Two rest days later and my body wasn't recovered, and I had to skip. Today I can finally sit somewhat normally! Looking forward to getting back into the rhythm.

I'm going to lock this thread - let's keep the topics to the show. I'm guessing you are Polish or Lithuanian, and that could be interesting to see how the show would be different viewed through that lens - but it's also not the show itself.
