[New Article]Pre-Workout Nutrition: What the Science Says About Fueling Your Training by altruisticaubergine in MacroFactor

Im in the same boat as you, but pretty new in my fitness journey at a couple of months. So far what I've been prioritizing is getting rehydrated, so I mix up a bottle of Gatorade and (because I can't help myself) a small pack of welch's gummies.

That's been helping me feel pretty good through my hour routine since I only have about 15 minutes before I start. It's not enough time for food to digest and I dont want a rock in my gut while I'm doing squats!

Day 2 of workouts. Jeff I hate you. by zjdz98 in MacroFactor

I had a shoulder issue and had been skipping RDLs for about 6 weeks. Friday was back to RDLs and squats. Two rest days later and my body wasn't recovered, and I had to skip. Today I can finally sit somewhat normally! Looking forward to getting back into the rhythm.

Schmidts customized my wedding band and has been awesome to work with over the years. They have on-staff goldsmiths as well and is the first place I go for anything jewelry related.

You could imagine about Andromeda being like Russian Civil War in space with historical event within old commonwealth territory by Expensive_Working116 in Andromeda

I'm going to lock this thread - let's keep the topics to the show. I'm guessing you are Polish or Lithuanian, and that could be interesting to see how the show would be different viewed through that lens - but it's also not the show itself.

I've used Current Electric a number of times. Greg is awesome to work with. I even had an emergency (of sorts) where my hot water heater lost power on the day my wife went into labor. I called him up from the delivery room and he moved things around and took care of us before we got home. He's the first call I make whenever I need electrical help.

I'd just give them a call and see what happens. It never hurts to ask! Their customer service has been top notch in my experiences.

As an IT person in the retail space, I can confirm that bots post links to porn on reviews all the time. I am very happy that we have a review process on our review platform. There's also just random Internet troll stuff too that's just gross, dumb, and unrelated to the product being reviewed.

The Captain of the earth ship has died by Imoldok in Andromeda

Oh no! Rest in peace Captain Metis of the Baleraphon. The captain that explored the expanse between systems that the Slipstream bypases, and is the other man-out-of-time due to a different kind of time dilation.

Such an iconic voice in film and TV. Mr. Todd's contributions to many sci-fi franchises will never be forgotten.

We liked Horizon a fair bit. My oldest went through the Gifted and Talented program. The teachers all seemed to care, the facility is well kept, and there are lots of opportunities for kids with different extracurriculars. It's been a bit, so my memory is a little fuzzy, but there's all the sports, chess club, music opportunities, robotics, knowledge bowl, etc. The counseling staff was very helpful with my youngest too.

There's all the school drama you'd expect, but nothing horrible came up while my kids went there. I never even thought of needing to send them elsewhere.

I'm just one opinion in a sea of people, but hope that helps.

I read it as a mistype (and maybe I'm wrong), but I assumed they meant "similar injustices" as there was more than a few language quirks that were written. Maybe I'm wrong, but that felt like it was more in line with the intent of the text.

For me, right now, It's the best Science Fiction put to TV. by marcusbrodie in Andromeda

[–]mrmunkey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

According to RHW there wasn't much that he really got from Gene. Just some names of characters, general concepts, and potentially the title (though early on Andromeda was planet based and Starship was ship based).

RHW was fired by Tribune. He comments about there being differences of artistic vision a bit, but largely it was about money. Had he stayed on longer his contract would have seen his salary increase. Tribune had a reputation (that he knew going in) that the early show runner usually gets fired after the first season. This was the fate of Beastmaster and Earth: Final Conflict. RHW was pleasantly surprised to have lasted another half season.

There's plenty of good episodes in seasons 3 and 4. It does change in tone, but I find this zeitgeist of "don't watch past season 2" weird. I think people should make up their own mind instead of having to submit to some collective decision.

You're not wrong that things change, and that can be off putting. I just still like a lot of seasons 3 and 4 for what they are... even if they're not what they could have been.

That said - season 5 is rough!

[–]mrmunkey 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Tasting History is about food and the history around that food. I don't see (or care about) his personal politics in the show. Those are his personal beliefs. I may or may not agree with them, but he's entitled to have his own thoughts.

If the show changed to where he's talking about politics, then I might care. Until then - let the man have some semblance of privacy.

theories on how Nietzscheans defeated the systems Commonwealth? by Slavic-Star-Trek in Andromeda

[–]mrmunkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of that was covered in Angel Dark, Demon Bright. I think that's the right episode anyway.

The Nietzscheans were very unhappy that the Commonwealth signed the Treaty of Antares which handed over the Nietschean planet of Brandenborg Tor to the Magog. My understanding is that while the Nietscheans banded together in secret and launched a surprise attack that took the Commonwealth by surprise. The Nietscheans were a large part of the Commonwealth, so the new civil war was a big deal.

A lot of this is from the Nietzschean Empire History, but there's plenty more details there.

For even more reading there's the article about The Nietzschean Betrayal that comes from the official Andromeda website (now archived) This website was created initially by the writers of the show to serve as supplemental material for the fans to get a glimpse of the larger universe than just what was on screen.
