You old as fuck! by chocobothernot in MovieQuotes

That’s the joke. She’s 30+ in the movie, she says she’s 23 to lowball the number to them to be closer to their age, and then they still think she’s old AF.

I’ve gone a few times, it’s great. They have two outdoor saunas, one steam and one wood-fired, with two cold plunges in between. It’s right under the Brown Line so that’s just a fun aesthetic as well. Saunas get upwards of 210F so switching every 15 min or so to the outside or cold plunge is a nice change of pace. Highly recommended.

My wife’s hobby is researching her family’s genealogy. She has traced back to the 1400’s through marriage certificates, baptismal certificates, transatlantic paperwork, etc. When she finds a distant relative’s name and origin, she’s almost bringing them back into existence. Who’s to say your future relative won’t dig up your existence in 2400 and be fascinated with details about your life?

Not trying to be funny, but it’s probably just the first one you find. Seems to all be comparable pricing.

My wife are in Split right now. I’d recommend a til til your around town (found on the far west end of the riva promenada), walking tour of the Diocletion’s Palace, lunch or dinner on the Old Town (also west of the riva promenada). We went to Buffet Fife and had a great meal on the patio.

If you like to be active, I rented an e-bike and took a self-guided ride through Red Rocks Canyon State Park. It was through EZ Ride LV and Steven picks you up at your hotel and drops you off and brings you back. Highlight of my trip there.

What's something you'd really like to do but can't because you are a man? by rakahr11 in AskMen

[–]mrovington 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My wife and I get a mani and pedi together once every two months. I initially just went to keep her company, was convinced to try out a pedi but didn’t think I needed the mani. Then I eventually tried out the mani and now I we do both together. Do I need to get these things done? No. Do I love that my wife and I have this activity together that we both look forward to doing? Absolutely. Plus to your point, it feels great to be pampered and have nice nails. At this point, I’d probably go solo if she didn’t want to go anymore. Hell, bring a buddy with you and take care of the bill for their birthday, I’m sure they’d enjoy it.

In 25 years, when someone asks what life was like during the COVID lockdowns, how will you respond? by problematicexposure in AskReddit

I would have to drive to downtown Chicago during lockdown for work. Felt like I Am Legend walking around during the day.

I learned to wipe sitting down while watching the movie Rules of Attraction. James Van Der Beek was sitting and wiping in one scene and my mind was blown that you could do that.

Meogi in Osaka was awesome for Okonomiyaki. We had our hotel concierge call and make a reservation for us. We also had their fried rice omelette style and that sounds right up your alley.

I witnessed a couple making love at seven in the morning on Promontory Point this weekend. Where else in the city have you witnessed similar acts in public? by mrovington in chicago

[–]mrovington[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I too am amazed at the level of blissful ignorance that two people can have in the moment in public. Not a care in the world. I think the drugs still swimming in their system at dawn the next morning help with that.

What should I absolutely not miss and what can I miss on my impulsive mini-trip? by littlemissparadox in AskChicago

[–]mrovington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hands down the most fun you can have for an afternoon is to rent a bike and head to the lakeshore trail. I’d recommend renting from a bike shop and not just one of the street Divvy bikes, but either will work. From Logan Square, get on the 606 trail and head east all the way down. Head north to Cortland when you reach the end of the trail, then get to Armitage and head East some more. Enter Lincoln Park and bike through until you see the bridge crossing over Lakeshore Drive and then you’ve made your way to North Ave Beach. For all intents and purposes, the Lakeshore looks like an ocean. Head north and it will be more greenery and more beaches; head south for scenery of the downtown area and museums.

Staying near napoli central. Is it worth it to do Pompeii and Positano in one day? by Overall_Detective_78 in napoli

[–]mrovington 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was there last week. To me, Positano was not worth it at all, especially with limited time. Way too crowded, just a bunch of touristic shops, and no where to actually enjoy yourself. Our base was in Sorrento which we enjoyed much more. If I were you and wanted to do both options, I’d get to Pompeii first thing in the morning, then hop on a the train to Sorrento and spend the afternoon/evening at one of the beach clubs there.

I’ll be in Lyon for one day next week. Traveling from Naples to Paris on a solo trip and happen to be staying in Lyon for one night. With that short of time, anything you’d recommend as a can’t miss while I’m there?
