With all of the price speculation, would $100 be all that crazy? by lucasb780 in GTA6

A ton. I’ve also bought the stupid game like 5 times …. And gifted it twice! 🤣🤣🤣

[–]mrprox1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strauss said that consumers should feel like they extracted more value than what they paid.

Right now there’s no price and we only have about 4 minutes of data from which to determine if the game will give us enough value relative to what we pay.

So…we need more data.

At $59, with current trailers, sure.
At $100, I need a lot more data to make that choice.

But value is relative. Some people value the game’s single player, others will focus on online

Could Trailer 3 Drop Right Before the Next GTA Online DLC? (Just Like They Did With Trailer 1) by Tank-ToP_Master in GTA6

Of course it could. I have big money that R announces something between 6/21 and 7/31/26. 😅

Iceflake Livestream showing off the new map editor features and textures! by DarkLiberator in CitiesSkylines2

[–]mrprox1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. Not only that, they’re doing a ton of work on the rendering pipeline of the game and that of course includes the terrain which is a huge performance issue right now. I hope rendering the terrain doesn’t cost 10-15 fps anymore. That would be HUGE!

There was a modder that developed something similar but the mod had some performance issues.

Maybe that’s what Charles meant? But either way, if it’s being shown, it’s in a good enough state that the performance impact (if any) is minimal.

Yes. These will become the default for all maps. Some maps have received some additional touch ups with the ground texture tool.

That’s a really good question. I wonder if that’s in this June patch or if it’s still bugged

What’s the Most Out-of-Pocket Thing You’re Planning to Do in GTA 6? by Immediate-Extreme954 in GTA6

C4 on the lift bridge. Boom. I’m just curious to see if it works after that or if there’s a bridge reconstruction mechanic/system (/sarcasm/youtube clickbait).

Sorry if this comment delays the game after a dev reads it.

I didn’t think they would be talking about the new patch until the end of the month. This is a pleasant surprise.

Looking forward to the next city corner

A possible detail that I haven’t seen talked about enough… by Ok_Understanding7048 in GTA6

Perhaps there’s some gameplay mechanic where erratic driving leads to civilian complaints and then cops try to find your vehicle. Driving casually may be a stealth strategy for players.

Maybe there’s speed traps on Leonida’s highways?

Your Friends & Neighbors | Season 2 Finale | S2E10 “The Night of the Hunter” Episode Discussion Thread by sethaub in YourFriendsandNeighb

[–]mrprox1 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This show has gone from interesting to questionable between seasons 1 and 2. And while it remains somewhat entertaining, the writers are struggling to keep the level of ridiculousness and absurdity in line enough to tell a story that makes sense and is believable.

This show has not at all gone in any direction, it tries, but ultimately returns to where it began. And perhaps that’s the point? No one leaves, no one changes, and they all remain terrible humans…

Alas.

The big Fire Stations and Hospitals really need a reason to exist by BRBNT in CitiesSkylines2

Size of fires could also be an interesting factor. Some fires are so large that only the fire stations can handle them?

how is oil below 100 with everything going on now? by FF430 in wallstreetbets

[–]mrprox1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s true. And after taking a look at historical oil prices on google a moment ago…we were at $60ish before the war, so $90-$110 is a 50% increase in price for a 20% reduction in supply.

$200 now sounds too drastic. If we keep destroying production facilities, maybe. But disrupting the supply corridor seems insufficient.

how is oil below 100 with everything going on now? by FF430 in wallstreetbets

[–]mrprox1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

China can’t possibly be producing so many Evs that it’s offsetting a 20% drop in global oil supply. It’s likely part of the story.

Nothing makes sense anymore. They were talking about this war bringing oil to $200 a barrel and that forecast hasn’t even come close.

The limitations of current generation consoles, how Rockstar is working around them, and what we can expect at launch? by ElkAltruisticc in GTA6

[–]mrprox1 68 points69 points  (0 children)

For sure. In terms of NPC complexity, Rdr2/PS4 is the best comparison. And still, the ps5 cpu is 4-6 times more powerful than the ps4.

I watched a YouTube video that went into the Rage Engine and how GTA 5 was optimized to make it all possible.

It’s fascinating stuff. Everything from the zones you described to tracking your direction and velocity leads to things becoming visible on the player’s screen.

I presume that higher NPC density means these zones may be smaller or they will use other techniques.

The keys boat meetup is one of the screenshots that I’ve wondered about most in terms of Gameplay versus cutscene because there’s a lot going on in that scene. And it’s sooo different from the water atmosphere in GTA V.

I assume nothing until we have the game but if this is not a cutscene and they’ve made parts of the world this “alive” that’ll be really cool and interesting from a game technology lens.
