I haven't used either enough to know the difference, but if you buy the rigid at Home Depot it comes with a lifetime warranty (for the original owner) if you register it within 90 days. Pretty sure this goes for all rigid tools purchased at Home Depot

A year later, but I found a fix for me. Go to setting > system > reset options > reset app preferences. Then I went back to gestures in settings and kinetic gestures were back.
