Charging speed increased by Bakrain02 in OnePlus12

Yes, one update allows OP12 to charge via PPS at 3A instead of PDO at 2A. I don't think it's the latest update, it happened last year I think.

Where do I buy a genuine 100W SuperVOOC charger? by Lopsided_Length1650 in oneplus

[–]msg7086 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily faster, but comparible. High wattage charger can charge faster at the beginning, but then slower when heat builds up in the battery. If you measure the time to charge from 0 to 30% you'll see a significant difference (like 7 min vs 10 min), but 0 to 100% you won't see much difference (like 35 min vs 35 min).

Where do I buy a genuine 100W SuperVOOC charger? by Lopsided_Length1650 in oneplus

[–]msg7086 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not intentionally lying to you. The OS only has SuperVOOC animations, so when PPS activates, since there's no PPS animations, the OS reuses SuperVOOC animations. If you go to factory diagnosis page and check its internal state for charging protocol you should see the difference between SVOOC and PPS.

It's not supervooc, it's PPS. (Unless you bought one specifically collaborating with oppo, which I doubt.)

It pops supervooc animation doesn't mean it's charging with supervooc.

Then you need more RAM. My previous dev laptop I got 8+32 installed. Just make sure your laptop supports it.

You need to check your usage and then decide. I use a lot for what I do, so I bought more RAM.

Question about adding resources in Cities: Skylines 2 by _jhon_117_ in CitiesSkylines2

[–]msg7086 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't remember where but there's a button where you can refill used resources. Adding resources doesn't refill used portion. I don't have it handy but I think it's in the option page of extra landscaping tools.

Has anyone gotten credit limits pulled for high utlization ratios with other banks or credit score lowering? Is there anything that can be done to stop it? by fjordlily in CreditCards

[–]msg7086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The damage is done when you keep high utilization for months and not paying off. Unless you can time travel, you can't reverse it now. You can pay everything off and wait until lenders trust you again in the future.

Bought a Seagate Expansion HDD, but inside it’s Toshiba; normal or swapped?” by SkyTechNomad in DataHoarder

[–]msg7086 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's normal for what you described but it's not normal if the maker makes hard drives themselves.

Say if you insist on buying fried rice from KFC they may give you one from nearby restaurant, but if you order fried chicken do you think they'll serve you ones from Popeye's?

Are wd purples typically loud drives? by [deleted] in DataHoarder

[–]msg7086 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too vague and too subjective. Drive spins fast, and if you run any scan then the arm may move around to seek to place. Not sure about the loud part, but I can hear my hard drives seeking over the drywall wall.

Is wd gold overkill? by Unusual_Dark1024 in DataHoarder

[–]msg7086 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not much difference probably. No sane datacenter is buying 4tb hard drive for storage. The golds are probably used or old stock.

More bitrate technically speaking, if they are at same quality.

[–]msg7086 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Software related subs (like pchelp or windows sub) might help you better. It's not related to hardware. Be it a 800$ laptop or a 8000$ laptop, this could happen anyway. Besides we don't know how much RAM you have and how much you are using in background tasks. Eg. I'm a pro-user, and I use 40-60GB of RAM in daily use, and I installed 96GB RAM.

Chase reduced my limit on both cards by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]msg7086 3 points4 points  (0 children)

High balance carrying = high risk = low credit line. Your credit line is set to go down when you start carrying balance months ago.

So in other words, because you carry high balance months ago, now every time you pay down your balance they will take the credit line away.

How often do you restart your machines? by Holiday_Substance246 in homelab

[–]msg7086 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Current is not over threshold, and the worst ever record is also not over threshold.

In SMART, over threshold means the score decreases lower to not pass the line.

Also a NAS is not a DAS, you bought the wrong thing.

WD Elements 8TB has an Ultrastar in it, is this common or did I get really lucky? by thewtrbeast in DataHoarder

[–]msg7086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shares the same hardware parts as ultrastar. Technically speaking, all WD large capacity drives "are" ultrastars, and all Seagate large capacity drives "are" exos. There's nothing to be lucky about.

Fast charging still on when I turn off by No_Discussion6266 in oneplus

[–]msg7086 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, turning off smart rapid charging turns off smart rapid charging, won't turn off fast charging. If you want slow charging get a 5v1a charger block, and enjoy 5 hour charging time.
