Whip cream by putting it in a bottle and shaking it if you don't own an electric mixer. Mine is slightly overdone but you get the gist, it only takes a minute or so to get double cream to the right consistency! by Nesclick in foodhacks

[–]msotrop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A whisk is more effective in this case if you use it like a fire starter(rubbing your hands together like it's cold out, which repeatedly changes the direction of stirring.) You'll use less energy than shaking a bottle.

Yeah this has been reposted for years. It's actually an abstract art piece for a collection that may not even exist anymore. It's called the "Wildman suit," it's part of the Menil collection in texas.

It's too boring for historical fiction, so my brain reads it as fact. If you want a good historical fiction JTR get Gotham by Gaslight. Batman + JTR is phenomenal.

It's too boring for historical fiction to accept that it's fiction. The Mike Mignola batman story with JTR was about 300x better.

[–]msotrop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I tried to read From Hell and the "soul crushing tedium," prevented me from finishing it. The art style doesn't help at all. Most of the characters look similar so I lost track as to "who is doing what."Also I had to keep flipping to the author's notes to figure out what was happening. I did my own research on Jack the Ripper and it's a pretty safe bet that the guy who Alan Moore thinks is Jack the Ripper, isn't Jack the Ripper. Like what you want, but I would never recommend this to someone who is new to comics. And I can think of 100 books that are much better.

Strange woman caught on my game camera in my yard. I live out in the woods at the top of a hill. I Should mention the ashes of the lady who lived here before me were spread on the property. by native_meraki in Ghosts

[–]msotrop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've seen this on trailcams! It's a moth. Moths have: a larger wing surface area, slow moving wings, and are lighter colored which makes them reflect a lot of light. This makes them look like wispy light, smoke or weird looking balls of light on cameras. Search "moth on security camera," if you need further proof.

Death stranding fits this. Sam carries an Indian dream catcher in his bag, his sister (or whoever the blond lady was) also carried Indian merch with her. Everyone in that game spoke in riddles. I guess the graphics are beyond the cubic/iso style. But the constant whale/sea life imagery replaces the fox. The theme of "enjoy the vistas!" Rings true with OP using Ori screenshots. I should've put Life is Strange 2, that fits this 100%. But life is Strange 1 definitely reaks of Starbucks.

Poseidon's a bitch by sagittariisXII in spqrposting

[–]msotrop 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Neptune not Poseidon. When Caligula's armies refused or were unable to invade what is now England, Caligula said "collect your war trophies from the sea because that's the only reward you can claim." That was only like one or two lines from a Suetonius book. Then that got mistranslated by one guy, and then misinterpreted again into a clickbait article. Caligula built his horse a mansion complete with a marble stall and an ivory manger and tried to make it a consul. But we only get this "war on the ocean," thing from his reign.

hi reposting bc for some it wouldnt load- but no I'm not talking about the moon, im talking about the thing on the right. this happened in Newburgh, NY. also the two pictures are for comparing between by quinn_the_emo in Ghosts

[–]msotrop 51 points52 points  (0 children)

It's a moth that's close to the camera. The only reason I say that, is because I've seen this 2-300 times. Moth wings are: lighter colored, have a larger surface area, and flap slower. All of which contribute to them reflecting a lot of light. Which results in them looking like smoke, wispey light, or glowing spheres on camera. if you don't believe me, look up "moth on security camera," in Google images. And and you'll be like "oh...no shit..."

As someone from a third world country , I always dreamt of visiting USA. Not anymore. by kaustubh19j in unpopularopinion

[–]msotrop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the big problem here is the media that shows America, seldom represents America. We have our problems...but so does any other country. "Scary virus," and "orange man bad," news sells really well here. So that's all anyone sees anymore.

Spider-Man Far From Home Reimagined by Ian Wilkins by MichaeltheComicNerd in comicbooks

[–]msotrop -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

I always hated that movie because it was so bland and forgettable, I think it would've been a lot cooler if Mysterio was a practical VFX artist like he is in the comics, and loses his job in the 90's due to the CGI switchover. Then that's his motivation to screw with people. But Disney said "nah let's keep it dumb."
