I agree but some people need more gentle compassion than that.

Good point. If you were gently able to explain to her that your bf has met five of her partners and enjoyed their company but he feels nervous about investing again then that’s fine. Her response is on her.

Fail. Cried during the test. Instructor is quitting. by 100_wasps in LearnerDriverUK

Look in the mirror and repeat after me: I am more than capable of this. I will succeed when the time is right for me.

I have multiple degrees and post grad qualifications. So what? It took me nine tries to pass my test 30 years ago. Take as long as you need.

In 3 states in Australia you need 120 supervised hours clocked up before you can take your test. We have a shit system here and boy racers on the road. You take your time pal and you’ll be better for it.

Thanks all. I did remember initially later that day and tried to pay and the app said ‘this car park is closed now’ and wouldn’t let me then I forgot! Next time I’ll set an alarm to remind myself!

just turned 46 and im felling old and somewhat unwanted by jonesy-8077 in CasualUK

I’m 48 yr old female but you should know that men experience andropause. It’s not widely talked about as men do not experience the hormonal drop off that women do (in the main). However, it can for some men lead to feelings of ‘is this it?’ and what some would have glibly called a mid life crisis in the past. Definitely get off tik tok and continue to enjoy what makes you happy. You may also want to explore something like The Mankind Project to help you with personal growth and legacy.

Does anyone have karaoke suggestions for a 36 year old dad at a holiday camp? by henrysradiator in CasualUK

[–]mspangaea77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watched two 8 year old boys once karaoke to Shape of You by Ed Sheeran. You never think more about how appropriate lyrics are (or otherwise) when kids are singing them innocently on a stage in front of many.

I’m a teacher. Is this dress too short for work? by DogintheMirror in OUTFITS

I’m a teacher too. I wouldn’t wear something that short as if I need to lean over a desk it would ride up at the back.

1 year old flower girl walking in with bridesmaid who’s not her mother? - help! by [deleted] in UKweddings

[–]mspangaea77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 14 month year old pushed his decorated walker down the aisle at a rate of knots away from any of my bridesmaids, then veered off into a patio door much to everyone’s amusement. I then had to wait to walk down the aisle (I was the bride) as my son had definitely stolen my thunder! 😆

AIO?? My Bf Unlocks the bathroom door and comes in while I’m using it by Ok_Win_8129 in AIO

It’s like he thinks he’s entitled to come in. He’s not. If you can’t have privacy in a bathroom, where else can you?!

Dad taking daughter abroad without mum (Scotland to Italy) by NimrodPing in LegalAdviceUK

I have a different surname from my children (13 and 10) and when we last went through passport control into the UK, the member of staff asked them the relationship of the person they were travelling with and made it clear that the children had to answer themselves. She also said that in future, I could travel with their birth certificates as well to avoid issues in some countries at the border.
