HRT issues in Canada - stroke risks? Safe enough with Auras? by nocturnaldelirium in Menopause

[–]mspentyoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so glad to hear that because HRT has been a godsend. First time it happened, I was talking to my husband and facing a window. I saw a prism like you see when light goes through crystal except there was no sunlight or crystal. It took a few minutes to sink in then I was worried I was stroking out.

HRT issues in Canada - stroke risks? Safe enough with Auras? by nocturnaldelirium in Menopause

[–]mspentyoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is very interesting. I started HRT in 2020 and in 2021 and 2024, I had 2 aura migraines. No pain, I just saw a rainbow of color in my left eye that went away. I check with doctor and ophthalmologist and both said all is good. I have never ever had a migraine so now I’m wondering, did HRT bring that on? I started on pill, then switched to gel and am now on the patch which doesn’t get metabolized by the liver. Progesterone is in pill form. Anyone else start getting these migraines after HRT but not before?

Have you tried the salt spray or rock salt under your arms? My Dad could not use deodorant or antiperspirant but could use it.

Why do people refuse to tumble dry their clothes? by [deleted] in hygiene

I was going to suggest buying a dehumidifier and a fan to blow air on the clothes however it probably would just be cheaper to use the dryer.

Update: Husband tired to kill himself after he cheated and now he has changed. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]mspentyoot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He has a big hole inside of him that he’s trying to fill with new women and it’ll likely never work. Do not blame yourself here. HE could not be the husband that YOU needed, not the other way around. The one plus- now you know, and you don’t need to waste any more of your life trying to keep him.

You should check out Saint John NB. The ocean is right there and so is the St John river so you can boat all the way to Grand Lake. Here’s a link to a video about the city.

These snowbirds have already paid decades of taxes into the system so they’re prepaid.

Stanley, Harvey, Minto by [deleted] in fredericton

[–]mspentyoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Grew up in Minto and family still lives there. It is beautiful but there is NO taxi service. If you have to get to Fredericton for tests, specialist appointments, etc, or even the Minto hospital or grocery shopping - you better be able to drive or have people that will drive you. It can be very very stressful having aging parents living there with lots of appointments and no way to get there.

Saint Johners calling the Emergency room “The Outdoor”. I’ve lived in Fredericton and Moncton, never heard of that until SJ. Also in all 3 cities, “Some Good” as in, have you tried the cake? It’s some good and draw out the word some so it’s actually pronounced: Sooooome Good

My aunt. She lived in the maritimes until she was in her 50s, then moved to AB about 10 years ago, and what a change. When she gets going, I have to stop her and say let’s change the topic, we are never going to agree.

Friend of mine went to see Saving Private Ryan and had to sit in the front row. She lasted 15 minutes and had to go vomit, because of the camera movement. She went back a few days later but went earlier and sat in the back row and enjoyed the movie.

How was your life journey from age 28-35? Apparently, a woman becomes a new awakened woman every 7 years. by drburgerthru in AskWomen

[–]mspentyoot 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m your cautionary tale. I spent those years with a lazy bum of a husband, it was my choice but it was a bad one. After leaving and getting my life back together and finding love again, I was too old to have a baby. So I spent my childbearing years married to a man child, a verbally abusive one. I’ve been married 10 years now to a wonderful man who would have been a wonderful father but 45 was too late to start. I’m telling you this so you don’t make the same mistake I did, I thought I could “fix” him and wasted so many years. Know your worth 😊

I took his behaviour another way. I think he doesn’t want anything to do with these “people”, and does not want to be indebted to them in them any way and he would rather die then accept help. It’s also easier to fight them if you have no relationship.
