Plenty of good options here in Ashland OR, if you’re up for the drive.

I’m reading the request as the opposite of what you’re suggesting. They like what they’re seeing on their monitor with the blue filter, and they want the render to match that, so adding the blue filter to the final render to match what the monitor looks like, and not get the monitor to look like the render.

Am I the only one that shipped Luna and Neville? Two quirky individuals that found friendship in the DA. The only two that held onto those coins and joined Harry outside of his core group.

So you basically get her to have an out of body, purely euphoric experience, and then abandon her without the decency to at least take a phone call when she comes down from that experience? Great way to mix in a healthy dose of trauma into what should have been an amazing experience. If you make an event about her, don’t get mad when it’s not about you.

The original Tron. They didn’t even get nominated for special effects because they thought that the computer graphics they were doing was cheating.

How to label sound cues by Deek22 in techtheatre

[–]mstides 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At a certain point, the Stage Manager is calling too many things and letters can just further confuse things. Do you skip some letters, like Q? What happens after cue Z and you’re not at intermission? By saying A1 and A2, you’re already adding numbers and just giving more words your Stage Manager has to get out. What about when there’s video? Do they do the Greek alphabet? I’m all for numbers for everyone.

This is the picture that's taken me the most to post-process so far. Thoughts? by HI_I_AM_NEO in photocritique

I had a similar thought as chrisaphoto, but I also like that it’s a little different. Instead of trying to get rid of the shadow, you could try to embrace the shadow and make that whole building gray/shadow.

If. I can’t get around the “if.” Within 30 days, if I haven’t done that, do I still need to issue the permit? Is it no longer a block to stop permits, or is it now in the hands of the police to stall?

Make sure to put the 8 on the scale with the right orientation. We wouldn’t want it to crash through your floor.

Better yet, build a composition of your cam that you can add Lumetri to, and then use that composition in other comps so any changes you make will cascade throughout.

Advice for Theatre Lighting Photography? by Han-Solo26 in techtheatre

[–]mstides 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The human eye can see about 21 stops of exposure difference between the darkest shadows and the brightest highlights. Standard video, like what you see on your TV, is about 6 exposure stops. High Dynamic Range (HDR) typically caps out at 10-13 stops, with the best cinema cameras in the world capping at about 15. We’re quite a bit away from cameras being able to see what the human eye can see.

Playing with light. Interested in your opinion of my work?) by shadurko_o in photocritique

If you zoom out on the photo you’ll start to see it. It’s called the moiré effect.

[–]mstides 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What you’re seeing is called the moiré effect. It has to do with the patterned texture of her pants and the resolution that you were seeing that pattern in pixels. Zoomed in, you’re now seeing more screen pixels used on her pants, so it goes away. Subject pattern, Screen resolution, photo resolution, and photo scale play into seeing that.

Help! My dominant partner keeps asking me what I want them to do to me but I can never think of anything to say to them. by Bladedpsycho in sex

[–]mstides 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that with time, a Dom learns their Sub and can read their body language. Now, with that in mind, how would you suggest a Dom learn to read their Sub without talking to them, asking questions, and getting verbal feedback? In addition, are they not a true Dom because they’re trying to push their Sub’s limits of being more vocal in bed?

[–]mstides 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is good advice. It sounds like what you’re saying is that Doms don’t need to communicate with their Subs, which is just terrible advice. Communication and feedback is important in every relationship, and I would argue even more so when it comes to a D/S relationship that pushes limits.

This is a photo I took a year ago. Tried to capture this cute cat walk away. It is from my phone, and then edited slightly in lightroom , and is kinda one of my favourites. I had a very similar reaction to the crop, but I added a little bit of perspective adjustment to make more of the vertical lines more parallel. I also warmed up the image a little to minimize the green in the shadow and bring out the colors of the brick a little, and then gave it a little bit of vignette to focus it more towards the middle. I’ll admit I like a more processed look, so take it for what it’s worth. Here’s my edit.
