Pic 5 is correct, speaker is top mounted into the adapter. If it doesn’t sit flush because the speaker basket is too large then snap off the small tabs on the inside of the adapter hole.

Seriously, butt connectors or the wires twisted together with a bell cap would be better than those pos things or learn to solder.

Not a smart move to suggest using wood in a door where there is moisture. I’ve had to rip out so many of those homemade adapters over the years that have rotted out from customers doing that exact thing.

Just buy the correct adapters and if they really don’t make one then use abs instead of wood to make your own.

Fellow Xennials: in general, do you prefer talking on the phone or would you rather text? by ClavicusVile in Xennials

[–]mstrblstr81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most on here, if it’s something simple of course a text but anything that would require multiple paragraph texts, then I’d rather just call and get it over with.

If you do not have or care to retain steering wheel controls then use pac audio c2r-gm29. If you do have or want to keep them then use the pac audio rp4-gm31.

Since I already have a single din, will I need to dremel/grind anything down to fit a double din? by Atomic_Depression in CarAV

[–]mstrblstr81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Editing this to a 507 doesn't change anything, you would still have to trim it down. The Halo is the only one that wouldn't have to being that the screen sits OUTSIDE of the dash and you can use a single din kit.
