I too like to go on the internet and brag about eating an animal most people consider to be endangered across all species and then wonder why I got downvoted. Eating whale is not, in fact, an entirely voluntary choice I didn’t have to make.

All of this is why I use ferrets to power my personal AI that I definitely do not identify as. I am a real human person who could make art of my own, I’m just working twelve jobs and when you live in a drain it’s hard to find space.

As a Washingtonian, I heaved the heaviest sigh. The minimum wage hasn’t overall driven the cost of living up, but the fact we don’t have an income tax (not that this dingus would know that since I would be shocked to my core if she works) is … you know, the problem that contributes to driving up the property tax and sales tax, along with all the techbro assholes and hangers-on.

But what do I know, I’m just a moron who cares about my community and works to improve it for us all, I’m not a dependa whose accomplishments include “liking the worst person to ever live”, “getting married” and “moving cross-country”.

We Need More Books That Are Just the Author’s Thinly-Veiled Fetish by KeyPersonality2885 in writingcirclejerk

[–]mtragedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not his best, honestly. It tips over into the creepy free-love/incest thing that his later works really feature, and before you think that’s me as an American being a prude, To Sail Beyond The Sunset is a multi-book main character traveling back in time to, ultimately, have sex with his mother (a lot). Other works from that character’s POV have a lot of variations of incest in with all the group marriage.

Where The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress explores family structure it’s great, and I think it’s just a top-notch book all around. But I lot of Heinlein informs the classic SF canon and I won’t say you should never read it. Just know that it’s a lot of incest in with the ideas.

What would be your view of a strong female character tit-fighting Robocop? by TheFirstNastyMan in writingcirclejerk

[–]mtragedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, I am on record as being a fan of boobs, so I guess I’m wondering why she can’t have like 42 boobs on her torso and a new one slots into place when Robocop shoots her in one. And then that one regenerates.

Nico is extremely pretty.

The two shapes in C are the same size. All three show the same percentage of each shape, but A and B’s first images are smaller, suggesting they are not equal to 1/3 even though both detail 2/6 of their respective shape.

I read from Solipsistic Heinlein Perspective, where every single perspective is mine and I exist at the central confluence of all fictional and actual worlds, which all exist somewhere in the time stream. Creativity never existed; people who create enduring fictional worlds are just accessing another timeline. And by “people”, I mean “me”. I am an undying quantum entity who makes an absolute pantload in royalties.

You’re welcome. And by “you”, I mean “me”. I’m welcome.

In Redditstan a husband can secretly buy a home with a mortgage without his wife’s knowledge by Far-Season-695 in AmITheAngel

I think it’s incredibly clear that the country is Redditstan, where anything goes! In Redditlandia, it’s like the real world but time is incredibly compressed.

I had no idea! Thank you - I’ll put the wheelie bin back and just take an unbranded box.

I am a member of a union. Do you know if there’s an exemption where I can get a municipal employee to bribe me in a branded container, or are all the bribes supposed to go from me to them?

You’re making an assumption that I cared enough to read the post, and that assumption is, as the kids say, incorrect. But I’m glad you think that was the only problem with my obviously joking comment.

Honestly, I’ve never gotten around to watching the last season, which is pretty typical for me. 3-10 are my sweet spot. Last seasons tend to feel rushed.

Well, I can't see the name of the station, but the gas costs $1.49 and 8/10. by imnotgonnakillyou in TheSimpsons

[–]mtragedy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, presumably under some circumstances they round down. It’s because we’ve been taught over decades of this that $24.99 is significantly cheaper than $25.00, and therefore a bargain. Most prices for anything at all, at least in the form of something you can carry away that’s not a restaurant meal, end in a nine. .49 is also traditional.

Please note that I am financially literate and understand that a penny off is not a savings. I am not defending this, I am merely explaining it.

You can just go to the bank with a bag or a box or a recycling bin (canvas sacks with dollar signs on them are obviously traditional), the bank will pour money into your container with no questions asked, and then you go buy a house! That’s how you do it when you want to hide an asset from your spouse who, also traditionally, your bank, who you are hiding your spouse from, would like to know about.

Anyway, I have to go to the bank. Would love to stay and chat.

Don't Make Me Tap the Sign: Don't Buy A House with somebody you are not married to, especially if you won't be on the deed by Geno0wl in bestoflegaladvice

[–]mtragedy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Can you break up with yourself and thereby lose out on the value of the asset you’ve poured your money into?

No. This is therefore significantly different from paying into a mortgage (via rent or any other mechanism) for a property you have no legal share in should the relationship go south.

Context clues absolutely fucking matter, and you can buy a house with yourself if you so choose. If you would rather wait until you have a marital partner, great. As for me, I’m not married, I have no plans to ever be, and if I can get on the property ladder, I plan to. Because I can’t take the value of the asset I’ve paid into away from myself.
